It has been almost 4 months since I first enrolled in the course. My sleep issues and insomnia was initially trigger by post partum issues/having a baby and while overall I have seen improvements, I recently found it I was pregnant again (very Big surprise, other baby is only 15 months) and it seems to have triggered me all over again. Multiple sleeplessness nights this week. I have found myself feeling helpless and doomed only to end up where I was a year ago when this all began. I’ve been trying to just allow these feelings, to lean into the wakefulness and read when I’m awake, allow the thoughts to come and go but things that were totally gone are back now and it’s very hard to deal with. My racing heart at night was gone and now it just pounds into the mattress when I try to lay back down. It just sends fear right through me. I feel like I’m trapped in such a difficult situation. Insomnia coupled with sleep deprivation as the 15 month old still wakes me up almost every night, and now a newborn on the way. To say I am scared is an understatement.
