About 25 years ago my husband was struggling with his sleep so I started sleeping in another room. It took the pressure off both of us. He eventually started sleeping again. Now I’m the one struggling and for both our sakes it’s back to the guest room or the couch for me. This has not affected our closeness, in fact being supportive of each other has made us closer. We celebrated our 55th anniversary recently. None of us needs to add more anxiety to our sleep struggles. You can have the same amount of quality time with your loved one and then be by yourself later if you feel that’s more helpful. When I did that I breathed a huge sigh of relief! Best of luck.
