Don’t feel defeated twig11. I resorted to taking ambien for a few nights when I never take ambien. Now I feel like I wasted this week by it not being authentic. 4 great nights in a row is an accomplishment! I hope I get to that point. Remember we need to be kind to ourselves.

So happy for you Noel. I am ready to reach that point myself.

Thank you, Martin. I did stay in bed and read last night and it was ok:)

Trying so hard. Thank you. How to you train your mind and body to stop the anxious cycle especially the anxious stomach?

    Elizabeth,
I’m having the same kind of night. I was drifting off on the couch, waited until my sleep window and went to bed. Wide awake. Came back to living room and have tried meditation and yoga and reading. My anxious stomach keeps doing somersaults and keeps me more wake. Anyone else ever experience
    that?

Hi Sophialynch. The mornings after I don’t sleep at all my hands are very shaky and my muscles seem to be kind of shaky as well.
Not sure why but not a good feeling.

Thank you for the encouragement Noel. Stayed up until sleep window could hardly stay awake. Wen to bed and not sleepy. Got back up on the couch and read for about 30 minutes and then decided I wanted my bed. Not sure what time that was as I was trying not to look at clock but then fell asleep until about 6:30 which now a days is good sleep. I think I may be more inclined to lining up with the ACT I group than the CBT I group. Tina

I’m the same way. I’m laying in bed right now and can’t sleep but don’t know what to do if I get out of bed. Seems I’m too tired to do anything but too wired for sleep and that’s when the terrible anxiety comes in. I slept so well last night and didn’t do anything different tonight but my eyes won’t sleep. What do I do if I get up? I used to be able to lay in bed and rest but now I’m too restless to do that.

Hi. I just joined 5 minutes ago. I ran across Martin’s podcast today after desperately trying to get some relief from my insomnia which is causing extreme anxiety and maybe making me a little depressed. I am so relieved to know I have a group who understands what I’m feeling. I’m also enrolled in an online CBT program but I haven’t felt like it’s been helping as my therapist doesn’t understand insomnia very well. I can’t wait to get started on this program and getting back to feeling normal. I’m so glad to have a community:)
