    I’m happy to hear it helped! It sounds weird, but I have found that when my mindset shifts from actively trying to sleep to trying to stay awake it tends to make sleep more likely. It may not always work, but it’s just a tool to keep in mind. I also found that letting go of ALL safety behaviors is key to improving sleep. Literally do nothing at all and reject the idea that anything external can make sleep happen, because as we know by now, sleep cannot be controlled.

    Hi Dan. One thing that has helped me is actively trying to stay awake when I feel sleepy. About an hour before my sleep window starts I am usually very sleepy. I probably could go to bed at that point, but instead I lay on the couch and watch videos on my phone or watch TV, and usually end up falling asleep.
