✓ ClientI absolutely agree 100% with everything you’ve said above. Insomnia started out for me as a response to divorce and it has taken over 30 years to really get a handle on it. I’ve also taken this course twice, (first time over 10 yrs ago) to help me relearn what I had forgotten.
Something that has absolutely instrumental in my obtaining better sleep is exercise. Of course I don’t read every post, but what I have read, I never see any mention of exercise. Doing something almost every day is so doable now with videos free on YouTube. You do not have to go anywhere or spend any extra money.
Martin, the first thing I bought from you over 10 years ago were the sleep sounds. I still listen to the Sleep-Maintainer every night. That’s been extremely helpful for me. I totally recommend them.
Beware always of sleep “medicines” like Ambien, Lunesta, etc. I don’t even know the latest names they are pushing. Your body can get dependent on them so fast and makes it twice as hard to get off of them. Other medicines that you may take for other reasons can also affect your sleep – in my case it was gabapentin for a partial knee replacement. I slept really good when I took the prescribed dose for 30 days. After I stopped, I had insomnia for about a week. Make sure you know all side effects of medications that you take.
While I realize what I just said is nothing new, it has been very helpful to me to deal with the issue of insomnia. I believe that what people say what works for them is better knowledge than I can get from any doctor so please, everyone, keep telling your story so the rest of us can benefit!
