Well, if I have to change my sleep window would be 11p-5a. My goal is to have at least 5 hrs. of sleep without waking up in between. Since I have been waking up at 1am , 3am, maybe if I sleep at 11p I should not be waking up at 1a or3a. Tired of waking up with these hrs. and unable to fall back to sleep. However, if I waited till 11pm I feel like I cannot wait that long cuz my body is ready to go to sleep at 7 pm while watching TV. Lately, I have been sleeping earlier with my current sleep window of 9p-5a. I am tired of waking up those ours just laying in bed and start thinking useless stuff also hoping I will fall back to sleep. I still get up at 5am no matter how I slept that night. Frustrating!!!

Before retirement I was on Amitriptyline 50mg., initially used to for pain on low dose and increased dose for sleep. I was able to fall asleep but at times falling back to sleep when I wake up at 3 am. was difficult. Right before retirement I discontinued taking amitriptyline, I figured my life would be less stressful eliminating my job as a nurse. However, 2 months after retirement and off amitriptyline sleepless nights started and has worsen to the point I was awake all night. So, I tried everything I mentioned earlier, only one rx meds help if I do not take it I am awake all night but I cannot continue taking it. I don’t want to go back taking Amitriptyline. I was on it for 16 yrs.
