Thanks Génie . Think it’s about changing perception . If we are up , then fine let’s be up and make the most of it . The « assassin » that is being fought is being nervous in the middle of night and ripple effects onto next day . Once we can embrace whatever may be , I think that is the pathway towards a better experience . So tired of worrying about it …. Whatever comes , we handle it

Hi Martin . Thanks for the response . You are right , I shouldn’t check the clock … the reason I do ….. and am not proud of it …. Is I have some medication that I can take to help me get a few more hours . It’s it’s 2 or 3 am , I can take it . It’s very light but gets me a few more hours of sleep . If it’s past 3:30 or 4, then I am ok with just resting because I got enough sleep . Definitely a habit I plan on breaking

I have stopped looking at the clock as per your direction . This is new for me . In the past , I would look at the clock , see that it’s 2:00 am and that is when the strong feelings would emerge “oh no here we go again, I don’t need this , I have so much to do tomorrow , I have only slept a few hours “……this obviously added to the struggle of going back to bed . Some nights I would go back to sleep, some night not . Flip of a coin . Not looking at the clock during sleep window should help . Maybe a little “ignorance is bliss “ and not having to carry the weight of actually knowing what time it is

Deep breathing and yoga nidra seem to help .
