✓ ClientComing off AD can be a hard time as you’ve discovered – I really feel for you as it’s something I can relate to. It already sounds like you’re treating it like a setback by not fighting insomnia and doing stuff you enjoy. I find it makes no difference if I get up to do things or stay in bed during periods of wakefulness- i just do whatever makes the night easier (i’m 2 months post course and sleep is improving as I now accept there will be setbacks and wakefulness no matter what). Things will improve as your body readjusts, you have tools to help you cope, stay strong

✓ ClientWhat you say really resonates with me. Being kind to yourself is so important. I’ll remember your words when I hit another bad patch. Thank you x

✓ ClientStay strong, you’ve proved that you can be successful in improving your sleep, and I guess occasional setbacks are to be expected- you’ve experienced some success, so keep on practicing all you’ve learnt. I’m still working on accepting that I can’t control sleep or my thoughts and feelings – it’s hard, but with practice I’m getting better at it. So will you.

✓ ClientThank you for sharing, I could have written your list of previous attempts to ‘solve the problem’ myself, and it’s comforting to hear how you’ve progressed 6 months post-course. Martin is onto something for sure, and although my sleep is still erratic and poor, I’m coping much better at night with wakefulness and during daytime with fatigue. After almost 30 years of bouts of insomnia, and these last 3 years with chronic insomnia, I’m incredibly grateful for Martin’s dedication to helping us, and to people like you for sharing and offering hope. Much appreciated.

✓ ClientI think I answered my own question as going through forum posts it looks like people who have completed the course still have access. Great news!

✓ ClientI just want to add to this progress report that after sleeping for an amazing 7 hours last night it shows that sleep does happen, so for those who are struggling with insomnia hang on in there and do the things that are important to you no matter how tired – you’ll have a sense of achievement and with a little help from AWAKE and 3 good things you’ll get there.
