I’m new at this too. I have cut out any sleep medication, except for occasionally when I feel really worried about something that I have to be alert for the next day. I feel that alone has helped a lot. The sleep medications don’t really give good sleep anyway, just something that mimics it. Worry and a restless mind are my biggest obstacles to sleep. I feel hopeful for the first time in forever that maybe I can beat this insomnia thing.
