    It is a good question.

I have noticed that – for me – taking a hot bathtub bath before sleep prevent nighttime peeing as well, either because I am more dehydrated due to post-bath sweating (and thus generate less pee during the night, even though I drink quite a lot of water during/after the bath), or because I am more relaxed about it. Or both.

I have also noticed that lying on my side – rather than my back – lessens the feeling of having to pee during the night. Probably because it reduces the pressure on the bladder.

So I am learning gradually, I suppose 🙂

The last 4-5 nights, though, something curious has happened: I have notified that – without really being too concious about it – I have paid less attention to having to pee and just relaxed/drowsed instead. Probably my mind has somehow been convinced/accepted to be calm about it and that the peeing can wait until I get up at the end of my sleep window. As I wrote above, my bladder is typically half-full during the night, and it seems that my brain can accept this, to not be as alarmed as earlier and not generate as many thoughts about it so that I have to get up and pee in order to calm it down.

It is curious how my mind works, but things are clearly progressing for the better (in terms of better sleep and more relaxation), so I am just one happy camper 🙂

It does, yes, thank you, Martin.

Regarding the sleep window, I find that I (now) normally sleep deeply the first 5 hours and then I am in light/drowse/no sleep for 1-2 hours, and then awake for 1/2 hour, until the alarm goes off. I actually like this slow waking up, and not to be awoken by the alarm, so I’ll probably stick with this window, but maybe tinker a bit with shortening it by 15-30 minutes.

    Thanks again for your reply!
