Ines✘ Not a client
Not much life in it, I tried for a few days. 2 of us now!
Ines✘ Not a clientHi Kenny
So have you tried anything that worked? I think the sleep restriction works for me to some extend, because I don't lie awake panicking as much. I've taken beta blockers for a while for the anxiety, they slow your heartrate down alright, maybe you should try them?

I think I'm going through quite a similar experience to you, and I'm quite sure there are hormone changes in the mix with me, but my GP says (and others have confirmed this), that for a quite a while, the hormone levels will be so all over the place that tests are not reliable.
I've been doing the sleep scheduling for 3 weeks now, and while I don't think I sleep significantly more than before (about 5 hours in my case), it is more reliable and regular, and has really decreased the anxiety about not sleeping. Plus I'm using some of the extra time in the day for myself, reading, looking up new recipes etc. So I think Martin's sleep training will really help you!
Ines✘ Not a clientSorry Lynda, bit dizzy of me to call you Lydia….
Ines✘ Not a clientHi Lydia
I've just had the same problem and have decided on a compromise: keep getting up at 5 a.m., as per my sleep schedule (this gives me time to sit in front of a daylight lamp and also to inhale steam for treating the cold etc before going to work), but I am going to bed earlier, as I think that interrupted sleep is pretty inevitable when feeling rough. I'm still keeping the total time in bed to under 6.5 hours in the hope that it'll keep some of the benefits of my initial severe sleep restriction going. Can't tell yet if this was the right decision. What did you decide to do in the end?
