and just to add – you don’t need to stay awake for 3 nights to feel that…but that first time gave me a lot of confidence that my body can take over and sleep. So now when I have heavy eyeleads – to the point that I am not able to read – I know I achieved a good amount of sleep pressure

    Hi Luke,

I will share my own experience in the meantime. After my sleep anxiety prevented me from sleeping for 3 nights in a row…I remember coming back from the airport so-so exhausted that I really did not care if I sleep. All I wanted is to touch the bed…to put my body in a horizontal position. My body was so tired, my mind was barely audible and the fatigue got me in such a state that I really did not care if I sleep or not. All I wanted is to lie down. I fell asleep within seconds (it felt like it at least) with no trace of worry. It happened a few times so I fully trust that my body can sleep WHEN I DO NOT WORRY. But this last part is hard to control when you are not brain dead of exhaustion.

This is such a beautiful story! Thank you so so much for sharing! We all need some positive stories to keep us going when times are uncertain. Having said that, I have already noticed improvement in my worrying levels after finishing week 1. The apprehension it is still there understandably, but I’m not experiencing fierce anxiety attacks that would result in physical and psychological symptoms.

Martin, the content in week 1 was so reassuring for my mind…knowing that there is no causation between insomnia and mortality, learning that in insomniancs the body prioritises on deep sleep, and that generally people are subjective about the wuality of their sleep…and your voice is so soothing (the whole family likes listening to you :). Thank you so much!

Many thanks! I tried exactly this last night….”ok, mind ..come and do what you do…I’ll just be here and get some rest” – that what was going through my mind and then…sleep happened!

I’ve covered only week 1 so far but I find your content, voice, philosophy so reassuring and comforting.

    Thank you so much!
