Hello Melissa, welcome to the forum. 🙂

How I envy your husband being able to sleep so soundly. Lucky guy!!

The story about the hamster was nice. Poor little thing, being stuck in a cage with a snake. It must have been terrified. I'm glad you rescued it.

We look forward to reading your stories of lack of sleep. Hopefully you will find some of the advice here useful. I've learnt some things I didn't know.

    Nice to meet you. 🙂

    Thank you Bobby.

I've never heard of the expression: *sacking out* before. I like that. 😆

One of these days we will all log in here and report we've all had a blissful 10 hours uninterrupted sleep………dream on Jane. 😆

What is it about weekends that seems to make your insomnia worse?

Hiya Jitterbug, what a great username!

All of us here have spent time watching the clock ticking by whilst everyone else sleeps soundly and it's awful isn't it.

I wake up so many times during the night, every couple of hours roughly. Oh for a good solid 8 hours.

It's 6.10 am now and I want to go back to my nice cosy bed again, but alas……….. *sigh*.

There is no shortage of good advice and help here and everyone is lovely. Good to meet you. 🙂

Michelle your bf really needs to be a bit nicer to you. Could your doctor maybe have a word with him about this insomnia affects you? I don't understand why he's being like this. Surely he must know you arn't doing it on purpose?

Did you have a look at that web site addy I gave you? Did you find it any good?

You really have my sympathy you poor love. You sound totally exhausted both physically and mentally. (((((((Michelle)))))))

Congratulations on the new job Tom. 🙂 I think there has to be a link between happiness and getting a good nights sleep, because obviously if you are happy and not worrying about anything, it's got to make you sleep better hasn't it?

I remember when you used to be up all hours of the day and night. You'd often post at silly o clock when you should have been asleep and your diet didn't help either. Do you still live on pot noodles? tsk tsk.

Good to know things are getting better for you. 🙂

Hi Marc, welcome to the forum.

I am sorry your having so much trouble sleeping. I can relate to the tinnitus. I had the once in both ears some years ago. It was terrible, like the Bells of St Pauls ringing in my ears.

Do you have to drive to work? I ask because obviously if you are groggy from lack of sleep you really need to be careful at the wheel.

Being wide awake when everyone else is asleep is awful isn't it, and so unfair. You've come to the right place for advice. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. 🙂

Hi Michelle, welcome to the forum.

Firstly I think you need to have serious words with that boyfriend of yours. He really isn't being very sympathetic is he by making you feel worthless and guilty for daring to sleep during the day. It's not your fault you can't sleep. If you had a little emotional support from him that would be nice.

Is there anything at the back of your mind worrying you? Can you pinpoint when this started?

Have you ever tried relaxation CD's? There is a wonderful web site that sells such things. I have quite a few of them, and it is some of the most beautiful relaxing music you will ever listen too. I'll pm you the address. It's worth a try.

    🙂

    Hiya, welcome to the forum.

I fully understand how worrying can keep you awake at night. You lay there desperate for sleep, but your brain just won't shut up will it. It's so unfair when everyone else is snoring away blissfully. I wake up 2 or 3 times every night and it takes me ages to go back to sleep again. I'm laying there thinking about all sorts of things. Then by the time I start to finally drift off it's time to get up.

Great to have you here with us. 🙂

Hello Brighteyes welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. As a mum of 3 myself, I know just how exhausting those early days with anew born are. It's no wonder your sleep pattern is all over the place. You really do have my sympathy. I remember when my youngest was about 3 days old. He just would not go to sleep. By 4 am I sat on the bad and cried with tiredness, and my husband FINALLY got up and took him downstairs so I could sleep. He woke me up 2 hours later!!! 😡

I know you said you can't sleep during the day, but when your baby is asleep during the day, make sure you rest, don't spend it doing housework. Stuff the housework, your more important. Once your baby starts going through the night without waking up for a feed, you may well find things get better, but in those early days, REST whenever you can and don't feel guilty. You've been through pregnancy and childbirth and you deserve a rest.

Lovely to have you here. Keep us up to date with how your getting on. 🙂

Hello Matt, welcome to the forum.

We can't promise a cure but we can offer advice and help where needed.

On Christmas Day I woke up at 2 am and for the life of me I couldn't get back to sleep. SO I came downstairs and watched some TV until 4 am, managed to sleep for about an hour and half and then was up with the birds. So unfair when everyone else is soundly asleep isn't it.

Welcome again, and happy new year to you. 🙂

Hello Caz welcome to the forum.

Being sleep deprived is awful isn't it. It's so unfair when everyone else is zzzzz away and yet here we are wide awake.

My mum has steroids, she has asthma and dermatitis and her inhaler and cream contain steroids. She doesn't sleep very well either, so maybe there is a connection between the two.

I've gained loads of weight too, but that's due to too many mince pies over Christmas. 😆

Great to see you and a happy new year to you. 🙂

I sincerely hope you both got some sleep. I've spent most of the night trying to sleep. *sigh*
