✓ ClientThank you for this. Wow this sounds so familiar! I too fall into this category, my brain decides what is important the next day and the pressure builds up to get a good night’s sleep. I worry in particular about next day events in particular driving and thus have not been to see a good friend of mine in a long time as she lives too far away and public transport doesn’t go to where she lives.
I’m also an actress and I get performance anxiety despite loving the work, it’s debilitating.
However , I see the sense, logic and beauty of this course and am inspired , I am seeing some progress and as you all say, we can still enjoy our lives sleep or no sleep. I too can confirm travelling on holiday recently I couldn’t sleep the night before we left , but despite feeling a bit weary the next day I thoroughly enjoyed my first day on holiday and I have lovely memories.
Thank you Martin and for the contributions above.

✓ ClientThank you, that’s really useful- may even be something unconsciously keeping us awake as we know we can turn to the sleep medication eventually.
Agree this strategy is potentially making things worse.
We are somehow not fully committing to the non medication techniques as our minds know we have a “way out “ of the discomfort with a sleeping pill.JH
✓ ClientThank you Rudy and Martin. I have a similar strategy to Rudy.
I was so distraught one night at lack of sleep, I frantically googled up to what time could I safely take a sleeping tablet. Of course this is not safe medical advice as its Google but as I was able to have a lie in the next day I took a tablet at 4am!!
It was desperation for some sleep.
I like Rudy I’m guessing want to move on from scenarios like these knowing this kind of thing is not really sustainable. -
