It’s interesting because my main goal was to get off the Ambien. Solved that about 16 months ago and only take it 2-3 times a month instead of nightly. I did great for a while after suffering from insomnia for 16 years and relying on more and more sleeping pills then studying all the CBTI materials. Now I can fall asleep (whereas that was quite difficult before) but awaken after 5 hours.
You can sleep! Listen to the podcasts and follow the cbti techniques. It took me a week or two to see some results but stick with it. I struggled nightly for nearly 17 years.
Don’t be too mad at yourself. You haven’t lost all progress! We aren’t perfect all the time. The biggest realization I’ve had is that I do have the ability to sleep. Keep at it; you’re doing well and it will get better.
