This is a tough one here. I can relate. It seems like my intent is to get out of bed to make my self sleepy again so I can get into bed and go back asleep. I’m learning that I can’t control sleep at all. My intent was still trying to control sleep because I’m thinking if I do THIS sleep should come. I’m learning that I should not engage in the fight at all. The past few nights I’ve just been lying in bed and when I wake – I say to myself – I will not engage with the thoughts, I’m safe, there’s no danger, I can problem solve when the sun comes up. There is a tug of war fight in my brain and I’m choosing to lose and let go of the rope. (I heard that in one of Martin’s podcast and it resonated with me). That has helped along with the sleep window. I just recently started implementing this and not celebrating just yet, but it has helped.
