As I've been reading Martin's blogs, I've attempted to try a few things. My first failed attempt was cutting back on artificial sweeteners. I have no idea if it would have actually helped me, but it was a total bust. I realized that I am totally addicted to Diet Coke. 😮
Sleepytime tea is soothing but as Martin pointed out, requires at least a trip or two to the bathroom which kind of defeats the purpose. 😛
For the last week or so, I have really made an effort to stay away from the computer. If there is a connection to the type of light given off the screen and tricking the body into thinking it's daytime, I can't find one. I haven't noticed I'm getting back to sleep any faster whether I'm tweeting or cleaning the cupboards.
I would love to hear what other folks are trying with any success.
I tried the sweetener trick too, and about gagged on unsweetened ice tea. omg, blech. My doc told me try Valerian Root, but instead of relaxing I got all keyed up for whatever reason. Also eliminated red meat, because I read of a possible link.
I certainly feel less heavy after meals, but it hasn't helped with sleep.

Yay no kids fighting and Lasagna!
Military man?
That's too bad. I've seen many a great people fall to drugs. It's a depressing thing to watch.
Yes, military man. We were together for four years before he joined. (I feel so old sometimes, cause it's been eight since he joined. lol) This is his fourth tour, and it's about all I can take, thank you very much. He's out in 19 months.
LindsayK✘ Not a client'IvanAleisterMesniaa' wrote on '01:Actually I think you won't need to worry about them losing their flair as long as you keep it interesting, try it, if you get into a bind ask for help and try to take a new approach to things.
I like it so far!
My poem is a three parter, there is that one, another one exactly like it and I never wrote the third, I will someday, once i finish the third I'm turning the three into a little narrative story.
Narrative poetry is my all time favorite. In high school I did a narrative piece exploring issues I had to work through about God, family, etc. It was positively cathartic. I look forward to reading more, and thanks!

Good Times – My ps3 got fixed and sent back to me
Bad Times – lost a friend to drugs
Sorry about your friend.
Good times: My kids didn't fight all weekend.
Good times: I actually have all the ingredients for lasagna tonight.
Bad times: It's been 23 weeks since I've seen my husband last. Grrrr…
Good times: Only ten weeks left until he's home!
LindsayK✘ Not a clientI write! Hooray for writers! Though I don't do poetry very much anymore, I can still appreciate a good one, and yours is very real. Poetry is empty without a little piece of the author's soul.
Here's a link to something I've been thinking of thinking of, maybe. I don't know if I want to go further with it or not; I'm always afraid a character like that will lose their flair over the long term.

Its like with the Twilight saga (I await the slamming for watching what is considered “girly movies”!! 😀 ) I refuse to read the books or listen to the audio books (I dont read too much due to concentration issues) because it will ruin the movies for me..although my flatmate has read the books, and she comments on when things are right or wrong in the movie!
Oh, Lord. Twilight. *sighs* I read all the books because I have a child who's starting to get into things like that (and I like vampires/werewolves/aliens/etc), and I've got to tell you: One of the last books (can't remember which, maybe the last) made me blush from the scenes, and it takes a heck of a lot to make me blush. The characters in the movies get on my nerves, but I read them differently than they act.
It's the same with the Sookie Stackhouse novels (now True Blood on HBO). The actress portraying her annoys me so much, but I like her in the books. God help me, my eight year old wants to watch/read Twilight. I made her start with the Goosebumps series. lol, can't keep her at bay forever though.

Yep – it's GHWatcher – always doing laundry in the wee hours. 🙄
Haha, yeah, they know me as infidelqueen on Twitter, but Lindsay elsewhere. Good to see you (sort of) again!
LindsayK✘ Not a clientI was born and raised in the far west of Texas, but we moved to Cincinnati when I was 14, and I consider it my hometown. The husband was stationed in Mannheim, Germany for four years. We traveled to many cities within the country, but unfortunately we never had the chance to travel elsewhere, which I highly regret.
Fortunately, I recently discovered I have a half brother who is German! That gives me a perfect excuse to travel that way again, much to my wallet's chagrin. I've never heard of some of the palces you mentioned, Martin, but Australia is high on my list of Places To Go Before I Die.
LindsayK✘ Not a client'Martin' wrote on '01:I am yet to see a movie that I preferred to the book. It's just not the same – at the end of the day, when you watch a film based on a book you're watching someone else's interpretation. I think that's why it's impossible to please the bookworm!
I thought 2012 was OK – the story was dull, but it was alright to switch the brain off and just look at the scenery for a couple of hours. Similar opinion on Avatar.
I really enjoyed The Dark Knight, so maybe I'll give Watchmen a try. The trailer for The Wolfman looked good – I'm tempted to see that, too!
Yeah, the special effects were good. And I was on the edge of my seat during the airplane section. Jeebus. lol, The Hurt Locker was good, too. and Up was the best kid movie I've seen in a long time.
LindsayK✘ Not a client'yamerias' wrote on '01:Glad you like the thread idea, I love movies!!
I'm not sure to be honest, I know my Cuddle Bunny wouldn't want to watch Watchmen, she hates all those “super-heroey” movies! I think I'd recommend The Dark Knight more than Watchmen for people not massively into the genre.
This is a film I really want to see, although I think I'll be going to see The Wolfman in the next week or so.
OMG! I want to see Wolfman so badly.
LindsayK✘ Not a client'Martin' wrote on '01:Agh! Don't get me started on COD. I have Modern Warfare on the Wii and am absolutely addicted to online play! It drives my wife crazy 🙂
Tell me about it, I lose countless hours to online play. I had to buy a new XBox and send a copy to my husband. When he comes home we'll have two consoles so we can shoot each other.
It's quite the stress reliever. Forgot to take out the trash, huh? I'll just snipe you, then. lol
LindsayK✘ Not a clientNice to meet you, Bobbie! You must the laundry person on Twitter. lol

Hope to see you around!
I do. Was on the high school team in fact, but I totally suck under pressure. lol Nice to meet you!
LindsayK✘ Not a clientAcross the pond…I used to know an Scottish guy who said that all the time. Made me laugh.
A birthday on Independance Day sucked as a kid, mostly because all my friends were on vacations, etc, but it's awesome now. BBQ's are the best!
