    Hi Arich,
Just wanted to reach out to you because you mentioned trazodone. I’m 2 1/2 weeks off of it completely and sleep Med free for prob 1 1/2 weeks. Im on week 2 of the course..
The sleep window has been really helpful. It was very hard for me to come off trazo had been on it for 4 years!!
So just wanted to give encouragement. I’ve been sleeping about 5 hours the past few nights which feels a lot better than 4. Id love 6 but small wins right? Stick with it!

Hi Genie! I just finished week one. I was traveling and fell off my sleep window but tried to adjust it later as necessary. I also read parts of Matt walkers book 🙃. Talk ab worrying ab health issues! Jeese.
I currently average ab 4.5 hours each night, I’m a single mama and work part time. You’re not alone in your struggle but hopefully we learn to relax and not struggle so much with it after this course. I can definitely say that listening to Martin’s podcast. Help me feel less alone and also give me a lot of hope that I can beat this. I have been struggling for at least 15 years. But even after week one I can already feel my perspective shifting a lot and definitely putting less focus on “trying” to sleep. Any time that thought comes up I just tell myself that my body will get the sleep it needs. Glad to be on this journey with others. And good luck with week one.

Yea I do workout most days it’s mostly the mental fatigue I’m dealing with. Thanks for the reply. I’m feeling good ab my sleep window currently from 12-6 and probably averaging 4.5 hours each night. I’m 2 weeks off trazodone today.

No it doesn’t. I struggle with boredom when I’m not task oriented. I’m getting a therapist in addition to the course because I’m starting to think the depression is a separate issue. The lack of sleep doesn’t help me fight it.

I hear all of this and after 20 years of dealing with insomnia and being on and off meds I have to agree with Martin. That taking them is ultimately trying to control sleep. The body will sleep when it needs. I recently came off of trazodone a week ago after being on it for 4 years. They told me it was a safe Med. It has taken me 4 months to come this far. Has been a nightmare to get off. I believe it wrecked my serotonin balance etc…not saying that you shouldn’t take meds but if you don’t wanna be on them listen to that deeper feeling and don’t go down that path for so long that you convince yourself you need them. That is another hard to break mindset on top of the insomnia itself. Not to mention your brain neurotransmitters being whacked out on top. Anyway, just wanted to share my personal experience from dealing with this for years and good luck to you! We are all in this together and thank God we have some support in this forum.

Thanks Larry. I’ve been struggling for 20 years w this. And I’m so grateful to finally have a forum to share with others experiencing the same stuff. I just bought the course today and love martins perspective. I tried cbt twice. So welcome a different method. I’m also coming off trazodone after 4 years of using it for sleep. I’m committed to being Med free. I have high hopes for this course.
