I believe the secret to this is letting go of the importance of sleep and be ok if sleep doesn’t come straight away or we don’t sleep for long hours and focus on the things that matters most and what we can control.
That is going to take time, resilience and effort.
I’m going to wait for me to have made peace that insomnia is part of my life before I move back to sleeping next to my husband! I’m positive that this will happen one day.
I hope that this gives you some comfort that someone else out there is experiencing the same dilemma.

I have moved my husband into a different room as he snores so much. As such we both get less sleep as I keep kicking him to stop snoring.
I’m scared that I won’t be sleeping next to him ever again! I hope that identifying my values and working on them will help me with that.

Congratulations in letting go your sleeping medication! That is a massive step! I will just say, take baby steps and enjoy the improvements!

Meant looking at the time didn’t reduce the anxiety or disappointment!

    Thank you Genie!
I woke up early this morning and the first thing was wanting to know how I slept and my body was getting anxious to find out the time and I ended up looking at the time which is disappointing as this didn’t bring the anxiety or disappointment of being awake!

Tweg11, after 2 consecutive good sleeps of minimum awakening disruptions, I had a bit of a challenging sleep last night ie, I got really anxious while trying to stay awake for some reason as I was feeling so sleepy prior to the start of my sleep window and which made it hard for me to fall asleep when it was time to as I was so anxious! It was a tough night but I determined to have a good day today no matter what!

Thanks Larry for this great message! It’s day 1 for me in the course! I’m both very nervous and I excited! Definitely going to remember the long term approach throughout my journey and asking for spiritual support especially on the tough days.
