✓ ClientThank you for your good post. I just finished the course also and learned a lot. I have read and listened to many posts and pods and find them encouraging . I also have found that facing the difficult and scary things is the best way. I also avoided difficult ideas and situations from childhood. am doing better because of being educated about insomnia but still in the recovery phase. Looking forward to a more normal sleep routine. Will continue with listening and reading.

✓ ClientHi Pam I’m with you in the boat. We are in good hands. We are learning about it and we will come out all the better. Let’s be patient and exercise some kindness to ourselves. Not easy but we will do it with courage and faith. God bless you.

✓ ClientHi Stephanie I was much inspired by your pod cast episode I saw recently. You have been through so much but you sound and look so happy. I am only about 6 weeks into my journey. I had my original episode 5 years ago after having a kidney stone and not sleeping because of the pain. I came home from the hospital and couldn’t sleep. I dealt with it for about 6 weeks using Biofeedback. I am trying to adopt your let go approach. In spite of this I sense the anxiety still hanging around. Last night for example I fell asleep for 2 hours and then awoke and realized I wasn’t going to be able to sleep. Got up and listened to pod cast till morning. I generally feel pretty good and hopeful. I am half way into Martins 6 week program. Any advice for me? God bless . Thank you.

✓ ClientI spent most of last night tossing and turning then getting out of bed, maybe 12 times during the night. Although I say I don’t feel anxious it’s obvious I am as I won’t fall asleep and go pee many times during the night due to the cortisol etc. I did practice the AWAKE exercise but kept forgetting what certain letters stood for especially the W. I remember having a short dream about a struggle going on.

✓ ClientI was thinking the same thing. They do overlap so I think the main idea is the be aware and open to our thoughts and don’t wrestle with them.

✓ ClientI woke up at 130 am last night and was not feeling anxious but I did the AWAKE exercise and did just stay in bed as I was comfortable there , but I was wide awake. As far as the Allow part I just kept it simple and didn’t resist any of the awkward feeling of being awake and believe that as I practice this my brain will learn that it doesn’t need to send me any alarm bells. I eventually fell asleep around 430 I think. Thanks for your response.

✓ ClientWhat do you like to do during the wakefulness time?

✓ ClientHi , I feel the same way. I get very little sleep but feel pretty good all day and then get sleepy in the evening. I do feel weird during the day. I think we just stick with it for the next 5 weeks and see what the results are. You would think I would fall asleep as soon as I go to bed but I honestly don’t fall asleep until the wee hours ie. 4am. get up at 6,

✓ ClientThank you. It has come to me with renewed realization that it’s all a mind game. There’s no fire, no emergency to going to sleep. I am telling my mind that all is good and safe so don’t give me those false alarms and if you do Im going to tell you the same thing. I actually slept well last night after having a good heart to heart talk with myself. I said there is no danger around here ,look. Having an open mind without my brains falling out is a good thing. Thanks for your response.
