    OOoh right let's think.

Born in England and still here

Do I count Ireland, Scotland and Wales too then? lol as I've visited all three, but not Northern Ireland.

France – was in a marching band as a girl and travelled to play there. Then went on holiday and got engaged there on a beach at sunset.

    Germany – marching band stuff

Italy – holiday where I met hubby

Spain – my parents emigrated there for a while

Portugal – hubby is half-Portuguese (and half-Irish) so went to stay with family.

America – I had a huge fear of flying and after going on a course hubby treated me to a stay in NYC.

Your stories are all so amazing. I have tears in my eyes!

I guess mine are as follows:

Meeting my husband in Italy in 2001 and marrying him in 2003.

Finding out we are both infertile was a biggy and one that still hurts now.

Adopting our two amazing children and becoming a mummy.

Having depression finally diagnosed and beginning treatment.

OOh interesting thread – been loving reading the poems. I write but Christian poetry (or rhymes for competitions lol). I also write book reviews. Hubby can't work out how to write one but it comes naturally to me. Does that count?

I'm a reader – a HUGE reader – and I write reviews for a couple of publishers and websites – the payment is the book I read lol. I have a Sony ereader too and love it as more books can come with me now. I also love music. I've just been given a Nokia X6 phone to review and it has Comes with Music. It means I can download music free for a year then keep it afterwards!!! Heaven for me lol. Crafting is another hobby. I love to make cards and have just got into beading and making keyrings. As I'm off work I also spend time on twitter chatting and entering competitions. People think that's very sad but I like it.

Sadly I sleep worse with hubby. He snores (even wearing nose strips) and if I'm not asleep before him then I cannot drop off as I tune into him. Even if he's not snoring I tune into his breathing. Some nights I have slept on the settee and some nights he has to let me sleep (bless him). Though most nights I either go to bed first to allow me to fall asleep or we go to bed together and he waits til I drop off before he stops reading. The light doesn't affect me.

I switch off tv and laptop an hour before I want to sleep. then make a milky hot chocolate and take it to bed. I get ready for bed then get into a cool bed (can't sleep if I'm hot). I read and/or listen to music then when i feel drowsy turn my light off and sleep. This all takes about an hour but works for me and not taken sleeping tabs for over a week now.

I've posted this somewhere else but my insomnia comes from my depression.

I use classical sooting music, no words unless made up ones such as Karl Jenkins' Adiemus stuff.

OOoh it gets my goat, as does the use of the word “depression”. I have depression – I was diagnosed with it. I was also diagnosed with insomnia as an effect of the depression and medication. People often like to exaggerate or just don't understand the true meaning of what it is like to live without sleep.
