I have mostly recovered from the cough and breathing difficulty from Covid. And going to bed at around 10:30 and alarm is at 5 now but I’m always awake before the alarm. Spending less time in bed has helped me get some sleep. When this started a few months ago I thought (and my family and friends told me) that I needed to catch up on sleep. I felt a lot of pressure to catch up on sleep and to be sleeping but I couldn’t. I stayed in bed later on the weekends and even the weekdays to try to sleep but it was more dozing than sleeping. What started out as not sleeping due to albuterol, steroids, coughing and stress became not sleeping because I was worried about not sleeping. There were many nights of lying there trying to fall asleep and not sleeping and feeling stressed about it and many days of not going to work because of that. And I thought I needed to find the right medicine to sleep and have tried many different medicines (still taking one). And yes, a sleep window has helped and not looking at the time has helped. Lately I have had many nights where I know I was asleep for a chunk of several hours and still some nights that I don’t know if I have slept at all.
