    I’m not a doctor, but I do have a similar problem. I have two thoughts for you:

    1) Martin Reed actually gives a really good idea for this. Take a note card and write: “If I don’t fall asleep tonight it’s no big deal. I’ll just relax and see what happens.” Put it next to your bed and read it every night.

    2) I have really benefited from listening to guided sleep meditations. First I started listening to free hypnosis sessions for sleep but then I switched over to a free app called Insight Timer which has many sleep/deep relaxation meditations specifically designed so you can drift off to sleep during or at the end. Probably 95% of the time, I fall asleep before finishing the sleep meditation (I usually aim for the ones that are at least 30 minutes long).

    My husband has actually confirmed with me several times that I do not snore, so at the least I don’t think I have sleep apnea.

    Sometimes it is difficult to sleep through the night because I feel like I’m half awake all night. Though, thankfully that only happens every so often.
