Thanks Kat for sharing your experience on this journey. I could resonate myself in most cases you describe. As you say there are good and bad days but we learn to manage the setbacks better with less struggle and more on accepting it as part of process.

Hi Kat can you please explain which techniques helped you to the most. It would motivate many others like me who are in similar path.

Thanks for the explanation Martin i can get that clear now! Yes writing three good things is helping me to show my mind that my day is not as bad as I/my mind imagine it to be inspite of sleeping less. Also my mindset is improving daily to accept this stage of my life with insomnia rather than fighting it back. I am sticking to 12-7 (7hrsleep window) now for couple of weeks.I got decent sleep for 3 days in this two weeks, other days it was less like I feel extremely sleepy from 10.30-11.30(before my window) post that sleep pressure gets low and 3-5 I constantly wake up but I try my best to accept that wakefulness and not stress over it. Then 5-7 I sleep well again. This is constantly happening for a week as a pattern.(also few days I sleep well till 5 and later I don’t get sleep, few days I start to sleep by 3 and sleep well till 7).So at this stage should I try moving my sleep window backward(11-6) as I get extreme sleep pressure at 11-11.30 or reduce it from 7hr to 6.5/6 hr sleep window or stick to same window(12-7) and see the results after few more weeks by focusing more on befriending wakefulness/sleep anxiety even better? Any suggestions please!

Thanks for all the responses! They really help at this stage. I know naps are not recommended to build the sleep drive but does just closing the eyes, laying down and relaxing without sleeping to ease body fatigue in middle of the day for 15min or so also affect building the sleep drive?
