Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientOh yes, definitely, I love that about the night too, recently I've been taking my dog for a walk at 3/4 AM. The cool, clean, unpolluted air of the night, the stars, the quiet solace.. there really is a poetic beauty somewhere there in the night. Brings us back down to Earth and reminds us that what we stress about during the day.. really isn't that important.

October 5, 2012 at 7:09 am in reply to: Bad reactions to sleeping pills like serepax or Valium? #14156Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientI was on diazapam for years, scrambled my brains good and proper. But I was taking it with alcohol and.. other things.
But yes, Diazapam is very, very potent, many GP's here won't prescribe it any more for that reason. Took months for me to detox off it as it's highly addictive, too.
But yes, the symptoms you've described are very common for diazapam, remember it's not a sleeping pill – it is a sedative, that just happens to have a side effect of drowsiness that helps you sleep.
Loss of memory, bad judgement of time, no sense of time passed and this:
Quote:I found a post on this site I don't remember posting that was just gibberish with terrible spelling and was basically just me ranting about my gorgeous daughter!Well just ask Martin about my posts on his other site for the past 6 years I was on stuff like that 😆
There are much better alternatives than Diazapam out there, less potent and dangerous, I'd go back to your GP and let them know it's just not working for you and ask for an alternative.
Do you wake up feeling groggy, and also have that weird eyesight thing, where it looks like you're looking at everything through the back of a spoon? It gave me that side effect often after waking, especially if I've taken three or four of them at night.
Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientYou know you need more sleep when, you're stood at the sink washing imaginary glasses.
Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientUsed to have a mohican you know. Now receeding I got a nohican. *groan*
Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientHaha maybe I am, I tend to only go to rock/alternative clubs though.
Funny though how 10 years ago I was going “oh I can't wait til I'm older”, and now it's “God I'd give anything to be 18 again!”
But it's not too late. I just started back at college doing entry level 3 computing – programming games, graphics, stripping & rebuilding computers, databases & servers.
I'm still up often for 2 nights on a row but asides from that sleeping is actually a lot better. It's usually two nights up, then bed at night time on the third and I'll be waking and going to sleep at reasonable times for a few days onwards then up 2 nights again. So although there's still a hiccup there it's more routine than it was which my body is handling much better with much less stress involved than it being completely random, 2 nights, 3 nights, then 2 days of napping etc as it was.
So everything seems pretty stable at the moment, I limit myself to 8 pints a week no more. So I can have 2 pints over 4 days or 8 pints on a Saturday night or one pint everyday/ 2 on a saturday which I've been keeping to, infact this past couple of months I've only been averaging 3/4 pints a week. Next step is quitting smoking again! Have an appointment with stop smoking clinic on 29th to get some nicotine pills and my GP has finally settled me on one dose of anti-depressant instead of mixing, swapping, upping and downing all the time.
So I'm sure all this has helped stabilise!
Still got a receeding hairline though. DAMN YOU ALL!

Oink Oink!
It was really good, I quite enjoyed it! Very rare I enjoy films these days but I was satisfied with that one!
Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientI've instructed them all to be executed if they don't perform.

Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientShall I? Should I.. no I shouldn't, not here, such a nice forum.. resist… resist.. resist.. resi..there were 10 German bombers in the air! There were 10 German bombers in the air! There were 10 German bombers, 10 German bombers, 10 German bombers in the air.. and the RAF from England shot one down.. AND THE RAF FROM ENGLAND SHOT ONE DOWN AND THE RAF FROM ENGLAND etc..
C'mon ENG-ER-LAND!
Calm down Tox, t'is 6 AM.
Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientOh yeah definitely, how do you think I feel, I'm 28 at the end of this year – my joints ache like I'm in my 60s, slowing down in general, receeding hairline but I just can't seem to take the carefree partying or abuse my body like I could in my younger days. Jeez it was only a few years ago I felt invincible, could put in copious amounts of substances, chemicals and alcohol into my body with no affect. This past few months I seem to have aged 40 years before my time haha.
Yeah, it really starts to hit home that you aren't a young verile teenager any more when you start to feel the effects of ageing!
Tommy ToXen✘ Not a clientAnother update.
Been a few week now, but yesterday I got quite a glimpse of joy, I was sat listening to music, when I realized I could move my big toe! LOL. Not much, just a little wiggle. But alas, every little helps!!
