Thanks C5, the insomnia struggle is so overwhelming at times…..

That’s the hardest part, I wish there was a one fix for all of us with that. I slept great last night but about two hours before bed I was starting to let the fear sink in. I distracts myself with a good book a half hour before my sleep restriction starts. We each have to find that inner “something” that overcomes that fear of bed. Yesterday envisioning myself in that bed, snuggled up, really helped. It’s far too easy to go to the negative as you both know. 🙏🏻

For me the day after a rough night it’s fatigue, a groggy feeling, and just very mellow. My wife can’t believe how calm I am when I lack sleep. I can’t stand the feelings that come with it but with it- I tell myself it’ll hopefully lead to a good night of sleep.

Hello you two! I’m so sorry to hear you’re struggling. The only thing I can say that’s really helped me with the anxiety is telling my mind to “let go of the fear” and I envision my bed as a big comfy zone rather than the hell hole it has been at times. I can’t put enough emphasis on the mental side for myself. I hope you two can find a way to ease your anxiety, that’s a main key as you know. 🙏🏻

    GenieB,

How long did it take you to figure out your sleep window and from that see improvements?

    Thanks!

For six months I’ve been battling this and I’ll tell you from my experience so far- it’s a process as Martin says. If you can listen to his podcast #48 (Leah) and her struggle there’s things in there she states you’ll probably say “yup that’s me.” I listened this morning and I related to all she said- literally almost every aspect of her story. This community can help we just all need to utilize each other and Martin’s advice/techniques. Keep posting, we’re all in this together.

I’m starting to really understand the benefits of getting out of bed if you’re awake. I’m to the point if I’m awake I need to move out to the couch or somewhere away from that space. I feel so much better knowing I’m not in this alone. I’d sit up at night thinking I was the only one and the rest of the world was asleep.

    GenieB,
Are you using and meds or CBD to sleep? I am still using the meds and I’m unsure just when to stop them….. I got them two days ago when I went almost all night with no sleep. Glad there’s a group of us in here and Martin by our side.
