    One thing I thought of that you didn’t mention is hormones. Perimenopause and menopause can start for women in the late 30/early 40s range. Hormones played a major role in worsening my sleep issues when I was 45-46. I would wake up every hour! Exhausting!! Unfortunately I only realized the hormone thing years later when hearing of other women’s experience of using hormone therapy. It could be a good idea to get your hormone levels checked to see if that is a factor.
    That being said I also agree with everything Marin promotes on this site for managing insomnia. I’m now several years beyond my mid forties and I feel my sleep is much better. I still have some ups and downs and wake up sometimes in the night but always seem to get at least a few hours sleep total each night. I hope that gives you some hope.
