    Good Times

To be honest very little has been “good”, but….

    • I have iTunes match on my Laptop, iPhone and AppleTV meaning I don't need a hard drive hooked up all the time for my music…but I back it all up just in case anyway.
    • I got to see my sister last week, I miss her. Get to see her Thursday too which is nice.

    Bad times

    • The headaches just won't go away. It was initially thought there could be a cranial bleed, but that has now been ruled out, and it would appear the pain is being caused by nerve damage in my neck…which happened when I was 18.
    • I've been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right knee.
    • I have tried to do various orders from places for American candy to try and cheer me up….and EVERY ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Everything I wanted is out of stock. I'm a little narked.

    Hmmmm, let's see…..

Male character – Zaphod Beeblebrox, created by Douglas Adams

Female Character – Alice, created by Lewis Carrol

Either would be cool because they both had the most amazing adventures.

Well, I head back to the doctors tomorrow morning, I have developed even worse headaches than usual as well as aches in my knees and one hip. Where I take anticoagulants, there is a risk on the headaches being due to a bleed, so I may need a CT scan.

So, I'm guessing I could end up back in hospital again…but with any luck this time no enforced bed rest!

I just hope there will be some way to get some proper sleep after seeing the doc…we shall see.

Still watching movies on Netflix….but also bought some Canadian credit for iTunes and bought 10 movies for £40!

Recently watched Train, The Expendables, Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Daredevil (Director's Cut), April Fools Day (Original), The Mask and Beauty And The Beast.

No cinema for me for a while, not well enough…in fact movies may well be totally off the menu for a while, we shall see.

    GOOD TIMES

    • To be honest, not very much, although I guess I should be happy to be alive.

    BAD TIMES

    • I've been too close to death way too many times…this year has barely started and I've almost died twice.[*]I am in huge amounts of pain…and because of that sleep is a very illusive mistress.

I really hope people are doing a lot better than I.

Hmmm, not been here for a while with movie chat and so on….

Netflix has finally hit the UK, and the great thing is I can use it on my Laptop/Netbook, my iPhone and also AppleTV! Pretty cool stuff, although the movie and TV selection is pretty rubbish currently…but I guess I shouldn't complain at £6 a month I guess. I shall keep it for a few months and see how it goes…hopefully it will get better, I hope so!

While I was in hospital a couple weeks ago, I fortunately had a couple movies on my iPhone! So over that time I watched The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Thor, Captain America and A Nightmare on Elm Street (I think there's a bit of a pattern there!!)

I was fortunate enough to see a preview screen of the highly acclaimed The Artist, highly recommended.

As for Netflix…I have seen…Hobo With A Shotgun, Endcall, Are You Scared?, My Soul To Take…really wish there were some decent superhero movies on there!!

A Genetic Opera, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Dark Knight, Captain America (the 1990s movie!!), Monsturd, Last House On The Left (Original), Shaun Of The Dead, Zombieland, Back To The Future, Dirty Dancing, The Quiet Man, Dunkirk, Ice Cold In Alex, Without A Paddle, Hot Fuzz, Porky's, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Kung Pow! Enter The Fist, The Wizard Of Speed And Time and….Spaceballs.

I'm getting back on the movie saddle again folks, been a while…I have a preview screening of a movie called 50/50 that I shall be attending on Tuesday too.

Only managed to finish one Stephen King book – I don't get the hype, so I'll go with Clive Barker even though I've never read one of his books. For horror, I am a Graham Masterton man.

    Mugs or Cups?

Sorry to hijack…but you like Graham MAsterton? Have you read either The Heirloom or Dream Warriors? I read both as a kid thought they were epic.

    I'd choose Daffy…he's awesome!

    Kidney or liver?

I tried watching the first one when I was in New Zealand but I got bored and gave up. I've heard from a few people that the first one is particularly slow but it's worth slogging through it. Would you agree?

I'd say it was worth it, I love the books and the movies are truly epic….were you trying to watch the standard or extended versions?

There's a song called Start Wearing Purple that struck a chord with us, and for at least 6 months we ended our routines with it. You can find it on YouTube–but beware, the video is atrocious, and the singer has a heavy Balkan-states accent.

If you visit either http://inannaraqs.com/performances.htm or http://inannaraqs.com/Gallery.htm you can see us in purple, in elemental colors, and in older garb. I'm the most rounded and oldest (in the photos where Rowan could still dance with us, before her musculo-skeletal problems caused her too much pain for dancing–she's 16 days older than I am) one, mostly in purple or teal, but the earliest gigs had me in borrowed attire in colors which I shouldn't wear (yellow not saturated enough, and other wimpy colors near my face in badly wrapped turbans), and I got stuck with the yellow elemental skirt, for which there was no matching choli, as the others wore. The near-copper colors were not coppery enough, and I hope we never have to wear them again, unless I can have a saffron-yellow choli made.

In the video of the BellyDance MommyStars (a riff on the BellyDanceSuperStars shows), I am off, off, off. I had a Costume Malfunction, and was too distracted, dammit. I got better! The young man is my son, the young girl is Stacy's daughter. Sophia, Petra's daughter, two years younger than Monica, was too shy to join the routine.

Petra's the Lead Instigator, and she and Stacy/Chiya often do duets, and dance apart from the rest of the troupe at Burner/Playa/Burning Man-linked events. Sometimes I feel left out. Since we have two additional members of our troupe, we need to get them in photos in the bios page.

I know the song “Start Wearing Purple”, Medusa forwarded this song to me recently (that reminds me, I'll have to ask her if she will come back here!)

I had a look at the site, and you ladies look great!!

I'm going to try to attach a professional photo of me wearing purple and nothing but–I'd have it as my profile shot, but too many pixels/MBs, I guess, and you couldn't see anything useful in a 1″ x 1″ of it, anyways. I have no idea how large it will display here.

Has anyone told you how pretty you look? That is a lovely picture 🙂

I totally agree with you! Just because it's an invisible disability doesn't mean it's not there!! People on buses really annoy me! I've got a car through the Motability charity in the UK and I am so grateful for it because I no longer need to rely on buses and have to put up with people's looks when I sit in a elderly or disabled seat!! Stay on your soapbox 🙂 xxx

I'm actually not able to drive at all due to epilepsy and blood pressure issues, otherwise I'd get a car as soon as humanly possible….what makes it worse with the buses in my area and the services have been massively reduced, making it difficult for a lot of elderly and disabled to get to places.

Is it bad that I've not read any of the Harry Potter books? Oh, and like Caers, I plan to get all the movies in one go when they are all released although I'll probably buy digital copies.

I'm currently reading 2 books as and when my concentration allows me.

The first one is Humble Pie by chef Gordon Ramsay, and is an autobiography. An interesting book, talking about his childhood, his short lived football career and more. It's not too bad a read, and also explains a lot about the me we all know and “love” as one of the sweariest chefs.

The other book I'm reading is Trust Me, I'm Dr Ozzy and is a selection of letters from columns that rock legend turned under the thumb man Ozzy Osbourne does. The are some great letters and they are quite funny.

Both books were purchased from the Apple iBookstore.
