Is it worth it to watch the remake, or should that be saved for when one's exhausted their movie resources and it may as well be given a chance?
I am a big fan of the NOES franchise, and I must admit when I first heard there was a remake it did worry me somewhat, but as much as it is not as good as the original (it will always be awesome to me as it was the first horror movie I watched in full when I was a kid!) it still wasn't too bad and I enjoyed it. The makeup used on Jackie Earle Haley was pretty good too, looks like proper burns. not like someone spat chewed up gum on someone's face.
Other movies I've watched this week are Watchmen (brilliant), Batman Begins (great story, very true to the comics), Alien vs Predator (not as bad as I thought it would be) and Mortal Kombat (cheesy but fun)
yamerias✘ Not a clientWelcome aboard!! Hope to see you around the boards!!!
yamerias✘ Not a clientWasn't sure if the blog would be any good, but you guys are more than welcome…
yamerias✘ Not a clientWelcome to the funhouse, hope you enjoy the stay 🙂
yamerias✘ Not a clientI'm not sure Martin, every time I press enter more than once to separate paragraphs it is doing it, much to my annoyance…the only thing I can put it down to is using Apple Safari as my web browser!
yamerias✘ Not a clientWatched The Rite and Machete on BluRay on a sparkly new HDTV which was nice…
Machete was a fun a slightly gory movie, while The Rite is a spooky movie based on exorcism and is inspired by a true story. Both good movies for different movies and in my humble opinion a good watch.yamerias✘ Not a clientI think they are pretty cool, and great if I want to watch a movie and flatmate is watching something on TV. No signs of motion sickness currently. Watched Predator, Zombieland and others which has been pretty cool.
Here's a link to the Vuzix site (they make them) for the set I own, you can buy directly from them too, but I bought mine from a UK gadget stare called Firebox who ship to the US as well.yamerias✘ Not a clientBAD TIMES
- I've been that tired I've been a tad snappy…not sure if I've been like that here at all (people told me I've been snarky) but apologise if I have.[*]Our TV died!![*]I've run out of not just Cheetos…but Skittles!!! I need to get some Skittles tomorrow 😎
GOOD TIMES
- Because our TV died, we now have a nice sparkly new 42″ HDTV! I now need to get some HDMI cables for my PS3 and DVD player!![*]My warfrin levels seem to be finally levelling out, although I'm not sure how long that will last…[*]I am starting a new medication to help me with weight loss, it is a metabolism booster and also makes you think you are full after eating a little as well as supressing my appetite…I really hope this works as the weight loss issues I have are frustrating to say the least!
yamerias✘ Not a clientI'm just about to watch A Nightmare On Elm Street remake…it's not as awesome as the original, but I currently don't have that on BluRay!!
yamerias✘ Not a clientStarted blog…will be emailing you first entry shortly 🙂
yamerias✘ Not a clientGood point, they did ramp up the gore somewhat on the second movie…but the third just plain sucks.
What was cool at the end of Predator 2 was the Xenomorph skull in the ship…which set up Alien vs Predator quite nicely. As for Robocop 2…it was ok, and far superior to the third one.yamerias✘ Not a clientNo, this has Steven Carrel in it.
yamerias✘ Not a clientBeen watching through several downloads that I have got from iTunes or with various discs at the moment, have this week watched the following:
Predator, Predator 2, Predators: I love this franchise and the first 2 movies are pretty awesome…however Predators is pretty dire and was just plain awful!
Despicable Me: Oh man this movie made me laugh, this is a great family film about an evil genius who turns kinda good…but the best part of the movie has to be the Minions!
Zombieland: I loved this when I saw it at the cinema, and watching it again…it's still just as great! I love this movie, and Tallahaase makes me want a Twinkie…whatever one of those is!
Date Night: Kinda predictable romantic comedy, but not too bad, made me laugh a few times.
Autopsy: A mad doctor experiments on people in an abandoned hospital. Not brilliant.
300: Bloody hell, this is just one awesome movie, Zach Snyder really does know his stuff!! Speaking of which…
Watchmen: I own the Ultimate Cut, which is basically the directo'rs cut of the movie with Tales on the Black Freighter animation sprinkled in for good measure, making it over 3 hours long. I like this movie, but the original or director's cut is better.
I have been having a bit of a Star Wars binge too…so far I have watched Ewoks: Battle for Endor, Ewoks: Caravan of Courage and Episode I: The Phantome menace this weekend.
Damn…I have waaaaay too much time on my hands…
yamerias✘ Not a clientAdd ANOTHER to the collection….Predators.
I got the Predator trilogy on BluRay and love the first 2 movies…the third one just doesn't hold me interest. It could have been good, but it's not.
yamerias✘ Not a clientYes, sad;y so true…it's ironic really isn't it?
