    Thank you, hiker. Your reply was very helpful – I shall stop counting and just relax and get on with it! I am glad you are over the chronic insomnia.

    Thank you for your responses. I have heard many times that meditation helps with anxiety and have tried a couple of times – for a period of about a month – but I found it didn’t work. I tried consciously connected breathing and Vipassana. Maybe I need a teacher?
