Hi Luke45, 4th rough night in a row I didn’t get any sleep last night. I am at work dozing off. I am guessing the arousal system is setting off fireworks in my head. Fighting to keep my eyes open but I am hoping it will pass. Won’t turn to medication since it will just drag the process out and nobody even knows if it will help short term but I am hoping somehow sleep drive knocks me out tonight. Super happy to hear you are doing alright. Thank you so much for checking in.
Czor✓ ClientThat’s interesting about breathing and waking up in the middle of the night when I do get some sleep sometimes I wake up with my nose and my upper lip feeling very sensitive. I’m not congested or have any issues. It just feels very uncomfortable so I have a glass of water nearby. I’ll dunk my fingers in it and I’ll wet that area. For some reason it seems to calm me down, but it makes no logical sense.
Czor✓ ClientI’ve tried sooooo many supplements and I’ve never noticed a thing, my arousal system and the fear of being awake keeps me up. Still working on being at peace with wakefulness but I’m struggling. From what I understand sleep seems to be about Sleep Drive and Arousal System. I believe Mr. Reed was talking to another professional and on that video it mentioned how supplements are a minuscule part of helping sleep.
Czor✓ ClientWow! Sounds like you might just need a tune up and you will be golden 👌 (I’m not a trained professional, so clearly that’s just my opinion) how about 12-7? 1:30am sounds rough. Hope you find the best sleep window to help you 🙏 good luck.
Czor✓ ClientThanks for posting about medication’s because they truly don’t last long term and they just drag the problem on and cause more anxiety to make you think that when you fell asleep if it was a medication so I can you know sleep without it. This week has been absolutely awful, I am doing the AWAKE. Exercises but really tired and have run out of things that I enjoy in the middle of the night so I’m not sure what else to try. I’m hoping that sleep drive kicks in I feel for you and so many of us that are dealing with this issue, I truly hope and pray that we will get passes soon
Czor✓ ClientThank you so much for taking the time to respond and give wonderful advice 😊 I started doing breathwork and that is something I am enjoying maybe I’ll try some meditation. I think the more I can incorporate during wakefulness the more I can enjoy my time. Watching tv and coloring gets a little old sometimes so thanks for the suggestions. I will also look up body scan meditation since that might help me become more aware of my body. Appreciate your kindness. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Czor✓ ClientWow! whatever you do for a living I hope its mentoring people somehow. Can’t express enough how much your message means to me right now. I truly hope you get passed this soon, seems like your journey has so much more brutal. Thank you for opening up and sharing your struggles. I am fortunate to have the love and support of my wife and kids but nobody understands how this feels unless you have been through it and you have clearly been though it. Around 2am I went for a walk in my neighborhood and when I got back I layed in bed with my head and chest buzzing and got a couple of hours but it felt like I blinked. Prayer and AWAKE seem to help get passed some of these awful feelings. We have a friend coming over tonight to teach us Breathwork as a family, I hope this will be enjoyable for all of us and maybe I can learn a new skill to be more relaxed and enjoy my evening. Do you do any meditation? Are you finding any consistent sleep now or are you still struggling? What is your sleep window? mine is 11-6 but I’m not going to bed until sleepy so its taking until 2am to get to bed. I will keep you in my prayers Luke45, God bless 🙏
Czor✓ ClientEvery Canadian I have ever met is super friendly, I should visit one day I’m in Texas. I really appreciate your message. It has taken me a long time to start understanding the true impact of insomnia and how to deal with it. This course has been a life saver. I was introduced to Martin Reed by a friend of mine who had heart surgery last year and ended up with severe insomnia. After meeting with doctors and doing a lot of research he found insomnia coach on YouTube and decided to start following the free lessons offered on the website. With some medication along the way to help with his anxiety he was able to not only recover but is now sleeping exceptionally well and has been doing so for months without meds. I decided to follow along and do the same free course, unfortunately I missed some of the key lessons being taught and so it seems like I was not making a lot of improvements along the way-
I didn’t understand that when the sleep window started I should only go to bed when sleepy so every night I was wide awake and would go to bed. That never worked well. Three weeks ago I decided to purchase the program and pay more attention to what was being taught and I finally started seeing a lot of mistakes I was making. After suffering with this for about a year I feel like the last few weeks has been incredibly beneficial and educational so I have a lot of hope that I am going to get past this in time. Today I saw the video that discussed how insomnia is part sleep drive and part arousal system and that makes perfect sense. Your message I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you posting that and it makes a lot of sense as well, thank you for your support. My email if you ever want to reach out is [email protected] whoever wants to hit me is welcome to.
Thank you again Luke for sharing your notes, we will get over this period and reflect on this one day. God bless my friend.Czor✓ ClientOh, didn’t consider that. So time and consistency in following the sleep window should help along with AWAKE implemented to lower the arousal system?
Czor✓ ClientAwesome, look forward to them all the time. The interviews with other professionals are excellent like the one with Nick Wignall.
Czor✓ ClientWow, I guess I did understand I somehow thought it was more complicated than that. Thank you
Czor✓ ClientThank you Mr. Reed
Czor✓ ClientThanks, I’m on facebook if you want to reach out too. Have a great day at work.
Czor✓ ClientThanks Luke, the sleep issues started an August-September of last year so I’m feeling a bit worn out by the whole thing. Have never stayed in bed a second passed my wake up time since I know it’s so important. My friend had this issue and went through this course and has been doing great in just a few months so unfortunately my expectations were to have a similar response but it’s nothing close to it. He’s been great for months and I’m still in the struggle phase I guess. We don’t even talk about it anymore since it seems like a sour topic. Tough to not get up in my head when it impacts my head. Oh well, not a lot of alternatives to try and this seems the only way to get passed it. Thanking my brain seems nuts while trying to train it not to think about it. I had one day I slept 7hrs and that days I felt excellent in months. At least I had a taste of what it can be like
Czor✓ ClientInspiring post, happy to hear you are doing so well in week 3. I sleep in a separate room from my wife because I don’t want to wake her or impact her sleep otherwise we struggle running the house. Until I have a more consistent sleep I won’t bother her. If I could get 5hrs a night that would work but last night was 2hrs with many interruptions so that would have woken her up. Maybe you should sleep in another room for a brief period of time. Getting up and watching tv or reading makes it difficult if your spouse is trying to rest.
