Kik✘ Not a client
Chronic insomnia but my sleeping patterns are a mix of Onset insomnia and Middle-of-the-Night Insomnia.
My sleep experience is frustrating to say the least.

Does drinking my bodyweight in Tequila count?

More guesses:
Was it 'Are you smarter then a 5th grader' or from food/ drink packaging?
Kik✘ Not a clientI use Skype and Google Wave mostly but I'd definitely make myself available for a weekly Insomnialand chat.
I'm GMT +1 at the moment (British Summer Time). I'm good for most days between between 10am and 10pm GMT but not Thursday mornings or Saturdays.
Kik✘ Not a clientFound a website that lists loads of Sheldon quotes from The Big Bang Theory.
Thanks to insomnia and the internet, I can spend the rest of the night watching episodes on demand 🙂
Kik✘ Not a clientThe sun is 330,330 times larger than the earth.
A helpfully handy number to memorise for science tests and pub quizzes 🙂
And I'm going to guess didyouknow.org as your source. (Hiding the website title in plain sight… :D)

This is not hypnosis . . . in different states of relaxation to excitement your brain generates certain frequencies. The theory is the sound therapy encourages your brain into relaxation frequencies. It sounds perfectly safe and different variations have been around for awhile.
I tried a similar one using Solfeggio frequences (similar soundtrack of waves crashing in the background) although that was for general relaxation, not directly to aid sleep. It was reasonably effective but with tracks entitled “DNA activation” and “Restoration of Spirirtual order” it was a little too 'Age of Aquarius' for my taste 😀
This sounds like a more sophisticated version of what I've used before. Fingers crossed it helps 🙂

If you're interested, let me know 🙂
I'll give it a go for two weeks 🙂

thanks for the imput guys
No worries. 🙂
I've been on the donor register since I was 18 and truth is, I've no intention of coming off it. To me, it just feels like the right thing to do.
The vast majority of my fears are really about powerlessness and vulnerability and not about the issue of being a donor at all. In my heart I know my only choice is to trust that my family will do the right thing by me no matter what. This would be the same whether I was a card carrier or not.
Kik✘ Not a client'Martin' wrote on '08:Have you had anything published before, Kik? I think you've answered this question before but I can't remember 😕
Can't you submit the manuscript but if it doesn't work out, shop it around to different agents? I guess it comes down to what your priorities are – winning the competition or simply getting published.
I've had a few short stories and articles published (nothing paid though) and I was hired to consult on a thesis but that's about it. I'd like to win the competition simply because winning's fun, but the priority is to get this novel published – I've been sitting on the idea for at least 15 years now, it's about time I did 😀
I'm using the competition deadline as an end-date for finishing my final draft but what I really want to know is whether a runners-up place in a competition like this would open any doors or give me a leg-up when approaching an agent.

In my case, I started with motivations of the characters at that particular moment. Once I got that down, patterns started showing themselves and the journey pretty much revealed itself.
I always feel like I've got the answer on the tip of my tongue but it needs coaxing out. Maybe just start with something random and get the juices flowing and keep adding branches?

Agreed. I got rid of my bedside alarm clock ages ago because I spent so time clock watching and working out how many hours of sleep I had left before the morning. I try and go by how I feel in the day rather then how much sleep I think I need. Problem is I'm always tired
Kik✘ Not a client'Martin' wrote on '03:I was recently approached by a representative from Prescription Audio – they want me to try out their Nocturne audio product (and probably review it on the blog). However, I want one of you guys to try this out instead. You can view the instruction manual in the attached PDF.
There are two MP3 files – if one of you would be interested in trying this out (absolutely free, of course), then please let me know.
Is it just background noise or is there a voice guiding you?
Kik✘ Not a client'emmaree' wrote on '03:How do you feel about organ donation?
Would you consider it ?and if so which parts would you consider donating? Are you an organ donor ? and what are you listed to donate?
The UK govenment has been looking at an Opt-out organ donation system for a few years now so every few months there's a news story regarding the growing demand for donors. There was a story fairly recently about a woman with cystic fibrosis who underwent a double lung transplant, but because there were no matching healthy organs available, she was given the lungs of a 30-year smoker. She later died of pneumonia.
I am a registered organ donor and my family are aware of my wishes. I do have some reservations about organ donation including donating anything I could spare while I was still alive to anyone who wasn't a close family member or partner. Also, after I'm gone, I'd hate for my organs to go to people who were going to abuse them e.g. unreformed alcoholics, smokers etc. Or, as leftfield as this will sound, to a murderer or other serious criminal.
My biggest fear, especially in light of there being such a limited amount of organs, would be whether I'd receive different hospital treatment to someone who wasn't a donor. For example, if I was in a coma and was found to match someone on the transplant list, would my Doctor make as much effort to revive and heal me or would they see me as a meat sack to harvest from? Would they pressure my family to pull the plug to cross a name of their list? Coming back to the woman given smoker's lungs, apparently the surgeons allowed the transplant to go ahead because they deemed the lungs “good enough”. The family however said they would never have gone through with the procedure if they'd known where the lungs came from.
I personally would want a Doctor to sweat blood before letting me go, but I can't help pondering over whether my donor card paints a target on me.
Kik✘ Not a clientGood times: I've had two solid night sleeps in a row 😀
Bad times: I was off my skull on Saturday and forced to work through my hangover on Sunday and sleep it off on Sunday night.
If only there could be a healthy way of drinking myself to sleep every night. I know it works!
