LindsayK✘ Not a client
It's so interesting to see another person's thought process, Franky. I've often wondered the same things when I have time to ponder them. What is love? Overwhelming emotions that sit just under the surface for me. Why do I think I love my husband? Well, he's my safety, the one thing I can always count on to be there no matter what. In fact, as I was writing this he sent me a message and it made me smile. That's why I love him. 🙂
P.S. I know. 😉
LindsayK✘ Not a clientNice to meet you, Ursula! I have been a SAHM for much of my kids lives, but I'm on the job hunt right now. <_< Looking forward to seeing you around!

My husband is retired military but he works for a company with NAVY contracts so he is away a lot. (He might even be going to Haiti now.) I don't dare take my sleep meds when he is gone because I am afraid I will have an emregency with my 4yr old.
Yes, it's very stressful, especially with kids. And I totally feel you on the meds situation. The doctors don't understand why I refused heavy sleep stuff.

I've had this pattern of waking up in the middle of the night for years, but whenever my husband isn't home, I can always count on hardly sleeping at all.
Have you noticed, aside from the trauma of the accidents and the bad meds, that sleep deprivation is a much bigger issue when your husband is deployed?
Oh, yes, it increases significantly. When he's home, there's a sense of safety. I think it's stress, loneliness, and anxiety over everything that combines to create the bad sleeping patterns.
At least, that's the conclusion I've reached during my Productive Thinking hours. 😉

The podcasts help. Sometimes they are guided meditations, sometimes intellectual programs that I may or may not be interested in. I think they work because they make me focus on one thing, not all the normal thoughts that go racing through my head when I'm trying to sleep. I often wake up with the iPod earphones tangled up so I'm thinking about getting one of those speaker pillows (will try and find a link)
I had never heard of these pillows until you said something. This one is even reccommended for insomniacs. lol

Might consider investing in one of these. Hmmmm.
LindsayK✘ Not a clientGlad to meet you, Paula!
LindsayK✘ Not a clientI saw the second rate US one. I can't bring myself to watch any Japanese horror films, especially alone and none of my girlfriends will come watch them with me.
LindsayK✘ Not a clientSparkly skin is for sure a no-go, thank you very much. I prefer my vampires in the dark, with fangs, and scaring the pee out of me. I love a good scare, except for the Grudge.
That movie made me leave my lights on at night for a full week. lol

Yes, I've seen it quite a lot in the last 8 years. There've been several wives who lost everything to their addictions, including (multiple) kids, their jobs, homes, everything. The military takes drugs very seriously.
Conversely, I've watched soldiers throw it all away to get that desperately needed fix. One guy was huffing the computer cleaner out in Iraq two years ago before missions, and he had the audacity to come and see me when he was on leave, and high. I ripped him a new one; how dare he endanger my husband and everyone else out there to get a high that lasts what? An hour? Another guy got hooked on cocaine, and another on heroin.
It's a sad thing to see. Stress of deployments is no reason for it, though; people have no coping skills and that's why they turn to drugs to relieve themselves of reality for a little while.
For my part, my OCD kicks in a little extra. Let's just say there are certain things you don't mess up around me. lol

lol, sorry! I'm in and out during the day; the evening is when I'll do most reply and writing. I really enjoy reading your work, Franky. It provides an insight into yourself. Does it help you to feel better when you're having bad days?
Once, I was intensely angry with my husband, so I wrote him into a story and then killed him off viciously. lol, he didn't appreciate that too much.

I'm not big on movies I liked Angels and Demons just because of the Anti Matter and how I was able to explain to my parents and friends what anti matter is and what it can do.
I liked Law abiding Citizen, was a great concept, hated the ending.
I don't like twilight, I've seen the movies, and read the books, terrible pieces of literature and I could do a better job.
It's easy to write about vampires and werewolves since it's one of the biggest things teens love, throw some vampire in who's got a hard shell and a girl thinks she can open him up and BAM millions of dollars due to the hearts of little girls loving the idea of that type of romance, then they get it in real life and don't like how it works out.
Word! I thought to myself while reading those, “Why would someone want a guy who stalks, belittles, is controlling, and a douchebag all rolled into one supposedly good looking package?” It just floors me. Why is it such a phenomenon?
What happened to scary vampires, like Dracula? Isn't the potential of a tortuous and imminent death supposed to be part of the allure?
LindsayK✘ Not a client'IvanAleisterMesniaa' wrote on '01:I wanted to leave this part out cause I get embarrassed by it but I danced with that girl who was around my age and there was still people wanting to dance, the women lined up asking me to dance with them all again one after the other. I was dead tired but did it again and at the end of it for the next few months I had people asking me to teach them to dance so they could score with women like I did, and I said it isn't about scoring or getting laid, it's about dancing, to have fun and feel connected with someone.
I won't teach men how to dance unless I know they are good.
What was really embarrassing was the young one I danced with asked me out on a date, we went out on a few dates until she went back to NB. I even had a 32 year old women ask me out haha!
I'm am a charmer, I was brought up to be chivalrous and a gentleman to women.
Good for you! There's not enough like that in the world.
LindsayK✘ Not a clientI love to read, and will devour anything and everything. Child 44 was a great book, and I'm finishing up Homer's Odyssey this week, hopefully. I write, bake (sort of, lol), love doing anything outdoors, and fix my cars up. Not with decorations or body parts, though; I enjoy the mechanical work. Thought about going for an ASE cert., but eh.
There's also an array of unfinished craft projects in my garage. They're fun to start, but I lose interest rather quickly.
LindsayK✘ Not a client'Martin' wrote on '01:That's awesome that you learnt how to dance at school! You just reminded me of a funny story.
When my wife and I got married, her aunt done some flamenco dancing – then at random, pulled me up to do some flamenco with her. Let me just say, I can't do any kind of dance – let alone the flamenco. But, it was my wedding – a darn good party so I gave it go; rose in the mouth and everything.
I thought I looked good, but probably not. There were a lot of smiles in the room, though – and really, that's all that counts.
O_o The rose is what got me. lol
The last time I danced, my friend and I started a train after a shot girl had assailed us in a bathroom. Let me just say now, the blue shot is awesome. Anyway, after the train we got on the floor, and they tell me I dance a little better than Elaine from Seinfeld. I was definitely not blessed with the good moves gene at birth.
LindsayK✘ Not a client'IvanAleisterMesniaa' wrote on '01:Haha, yeah smiles are good, that sounds awesome! I would of gotten up too.
I went to a wedding and lets just say the women would not stop asking me to dance, I'd dance grab a drink and turn around and see a woman in her late 30's early 40's “Hey! Would you do me the honor of this dance?” and I'd say “I assure you it is an honor to dance with such a woman.” I'm rather nice I guess, kissing the hands of woman to lift their spirits, dancing.
The funniest was when I went up to a girl my age and asked “May I have your hand?” and she said to me “I've been waiting all afternoon for you to ask me, you're amazing.” We danced for about an hour or so and at the end she asked me why did you wait to dance with me? and I said “You save the best for last.”
I have another wedding to go to this summer, my best friends mom is getting remarried. It shall be a grand time.
What a charmer! I'll bet the ladies were drooling over you. lol
