Sometimes I'm sleepy but my body is too tired from my day and it takes longer to fall asleep,

I have and it was so hard at first. I kept at it no matter how much sleep I got and stayed positive. Go to bed only when sleepy. I like to read ( mostly paper, annnoying tablet light gives me headaches at night), knit and pray and listen to relaxing music ( rain and thunder my favorite, sounds of water in general…). I now fall asleep faster. I sometimes wake up within the hour of my alarm which sometimes frustrates me. Quality sleep is better than the quantity. I hate it when my alarm is programed but I have no choice I feel safe in case I over sleep 🙂 Take care

Sleep restriction helped me while I was nearing at the end of my summer vacation. No matter how much sleep I got I fixed my self a certain time for me to go to bed and a time to get out of bed in the morning. It's hard and it takes time. You have to keep at it and think positive. Since I have been back to work now it's been a month already, I had to program my brain to wake up earlier. It is taking some time as I was used to get up at 7:00 – 7:30 am. Now it's 5:30. Coming evening wow my sleepyness I had before started coming back. I start to feel sleepy while I was reading or other calm activity. I fall alseep faster most of the time. I open my eyes once during the night sometimes I remember sometimes not of that waking moment. I go right back to sleep. But lateley, I have been waking up 1 hr before my alarm ?? This has never happened to me. Now I try to go to bed a little later. It seems to be working. Waking within 30 minutes before my alarm. Going to bed only when sleepy and not tired only. At the moment, the only relaxing thing I listen too to help me sleep is the sound of rain and thunder, this helped bring back my sleepiness. I sleep maximum 7 hrs, on weekdays 5-6. Not bad also thanks to martin for all the help. Reading on the tablets and computers at night it really disturbs sleep. Now I am working on reading on paper or readers like the kindle is better it doesn't have that annoying bright light.
