Hmmm, this weekend…
Well as long as I don't wind up in hospital AGAIN, I'll basically be kicking back and enjoying myself the best I can….watch a few movies, listen to a few albums and maybe even read a book if I can concentrate.
Don't think that I've got any plans (which is nice) so it will be great to take it easy 🙂
Knock on wood that you don't wind up there again!
A peaceful weekend sounds nice; what sorts of albums? (Vinyl junkies unite!)

I love sitting outside on patios when it's nice. Glad to have the good weather coming back!
UliHarp✘ Not a client'MarinaFournier' wrote on '04:LAST weekend, there was the open Beltane ritual up in Berkeley, complete with May Queen & King, a Maypole, an 'Obby 'Oss, a Teaser & a Soot Wife. The town of Padstow in Cornwall, which has a long tradition, along with Minehead, of May Day festivities involving the above, Morris Dance, and a host of other characters, has been kind enough to give us (that is, certain members of our tradition, New Reformed Orthodox Order of the Golden Dawn–if they'd have known a Wiccan tradition would actually form out of that exercise, a more reasonable name would have been chosen!) one of their older Teaser's paddles, with which the Teaser directs the 'Oss, who is in a rather bulky, unwieldy costume (look in the Wikipedia) with limited visibility. It's to acknowledge the continuing tradition of May Morning here in the States.
…
On the 14th, our belly dance troupe (House of Inanna) does a shorter version of The Descent of Inanna than the one we did at Rakkasah West in March, when I still had to walk with that blasted “air cast boot” that kept me way too warm. We will do this at a local hafla, a dance party, on the 14th, and then at TribalFest11 up in Sebastopol the following weekend. The role of Ereshkigal, Inanna's twin or older sister, and definitely her Shadow, was choreographed for the two gimps in the troupe–Rowan with a bad shoulder, and me with my healing heel. Not much dancing for us–standing around, glaring & looking menacing, some pointing, a wee bit of walking, and that's about it. Rowan would have been at Rakkasah West, but for coming down with penumonia and being hors de combat for about two months. I stepped in about 10 days before, learned the blocking, sat to rest before and after the performance, as I still wasn't all that mobile at the time.
Beltane ritual and belly dance troupe? That all sounds so fun! I would lose it if I could go see/participate in those things. Also, I love the reference in your troupe's name to the Sumerian goddess; what a cool pick for a belly dance group!
UliHarp✘ Not a clientThis weekend, I've got a number of things on to do.
Friday:
First, new posts for all my blogs and adding book excerpts to my flash site.
Secondly, cranking out rough sketches for my current illustrating gig.
Thirdly, going shopping with my sister for our mother (mother's day is around the corner).
Lastly, my father, his husband and I going out for dinner and karaoke.
Saturday:
First, corresponding to my postal penpals.
Second, planning father's upcoming 50th birthday. (Oh, you bet, I'm getting a naughty cake.)
The rest of the day: WRITING MY BOOK AND SHUNNING THE WORLD until chapter thirty is complete.
And about a million other things in between.

Although I find I HAVE to make sure my scalp gets wet. Doesn't work if I wear a shower cap. Weird 😮
Same here! Unless I actually douse myself, shampoo, etc., I get nothing. That is weird!
UliHarp✘ Not a clientOoh, ooh! Looking through my archives, I noticed I had an older comic more insomnia-saturated. Apologies if it's hard to read.
UliHarp✘ Not a clientWell, here's my submission for now! Good timing, too; I hadn't done a comic in a while. Hot off the scanner; haha. It's topic is a blend of insomnia and writing.

Fun! We've got the ball rolling already! I hope more people join in. 🙂

They are finally going to try me on a drug I have been fighting for since it was licensed in the UK! I seen him for the first time yesterday and he is going to arrange the drug for me to have a trial on! 🙂 It has made me super happy for the last couple days! Hopefully this will mean the start of getting some DECENT sleep! Will obviously still stay on here and try to be as active as possible though 🙂
That's great to hear! It's hard to find a new doctor, and one that'll meet yours needs; congrats for getting over that hurdle. Here's hoping you have smooth sailing with doctors/prescriptions from now on. 🙂
UliHarp✘ Not a client'mariamoody1985' wrote on '04:I genuinely believe they hide behind their intelligence!! If pills don't work then they are confused!! Instead of looking stupid in front of a patient, they choose not to look you in the eyes because they are embarrassed that their previous opinion was wrong but too powerful to want to admit it!! Every 'treatment' I've ever tried works backwards on me I reckon…joys of being left handed I reckon! 😛 If I didn't laugh about it all I'd cry…can you tell?!!
At times like these, I wonder why it's so hard for a professional to bite the bullet and say “I don't know”. Sure, they save face, but (as I understand from this topic's posts) it's frustrating and confusing to patients. I would certainly be put-off by any physician who didn't look me in the eye; it's not only confusing, but sort of rude…
UliHarp✘ Not a clientI notice a lot of mentions about anxiety attacks here (or at least, as it seems). I'm beginning to wonder if those who endure anxiety attacks from time to time (raises hand) have a predisposition to sleep disturbances, or vice versa. Anyone, any clue about that?
UliHarp✘ Not a clientHello to you too!
Welcome to InsomniaLand; I'm a recent newbie myself! Us newcomers got to stick together, eh?
I hope you find the sort of information on here you're looking for, and discover some new tips or remedies for your insomnia. I can relate to your constant juggle with weeks' energy and sleep debt, especially with trying to catch up on weekends. I'm also curious to know how meditation has been going; I've considered it myself, but haven't done it yet. Family-wise, it's good to hear you can confide in those close to you, and that your mother can relate. I often see it on here (and am one of these people, too) that members don't know anyone close with the same problems, which is what drives them (and me) to InsomniaLand in the first place.
I hope you like the site, and become an active member; so far, I think it's a great place. There are a lot of good, sincere people here.
Have a great day/night; until next time.

UliHarp✘ Not a clientThank you for the feedback; it's always nice to hear. 🙂
UliHarp✘ Not a clientLikening insomnia to death is something I've done for a long time now, thanks to a quote from Edgar Allen Poe that stuck in my head: “Sleep, those little slices of death; Oh how I loathe them.” I have a penchant for quotes. Haha!
It's good to hear such insight on it; I'm glad that frustration shines through. Thank you for taking the time to read it! I appreciate it.
UliHarp✘ Not a clientYes, I did. 🙂
