Thanks Martin.Makes sense
Vids✓ ClientThanks Martin. There have been good nights too else would not have been able to sustain for so many years but even good nights I go to bed say 10:45 pm but get to sleep around 2 and get up at 8:40 am. So yes sleep window of about 6.5 hours sounds about right.
So can I just jot down my action plan and issues for coming weeks and can you please confirm if that sounds ok
1. Get up at 7 am everyday. So 12:30 am go to bed.
2. Don’t check clock, if I can’t sleep, don’t lie in bed ruminating but I don’t know what to do after I get up.the panic and fear sets in and my rational mind is out the window.
3. Do I need to take time off from work? Mine is quite a demanding job( desk job)
4.how do I deal with zero night’s or say 1 hour sleep?how do I convince my mind I can sleep well next day?most importantly how do I deal with the anxiety.
5.if I have poor night’s sleep, should I take medication next day? In all honesty I hate medications but the fear of not getting sleep overpowers this.I think issue is more the past memories, trauma of not sleeping well and resultant depression. I don’t want to go there.
Thanks

Thanks
Vids✓ ClientI posted my email so that we could be in touch but looks like it isn’t allowed . No idea how to get in touch except through this forum
Vids✓ ClientApologies, just saw responses. Great to see the support! How do we get in touch with each other to do SRT? I do not want to clog the forum. Will post regular updates on how it is going though in this forum.
Vids✓ ClientThanks a lot Martin for responding.thanks for sharing link to the podcast. I will go through the podcasts.
My main issue has been checking if I am asleep and that you know is a big no no. I feel extremely tired next day if I get less than 2 hours sleep. I am unable to be productive at work. I have been getting only 0 hours sleep of late . That’s why was wondering if I can work and also do SRT at the same time
I am so scared with getting 0 hours sleep on a daily basis when doing SRT as I know it takes time to work plus my many years of bad behaviours might delay SRT to work.
I guess main thing for me is will SRT work for me considering I have had this issue for a long time as I am not into relaxation and all.
Vids✓ ClientApologies, I thought my post was not approved. Thanks for the tips neuroshock and baggypepperowl.
I am finding it difficult to be honest to hold on to a job and follow SRT.
BTW,I wonder if anyone has gotten rid of 15+ years of bad habits to get rid of their chronic insomnia.
Martin Reed, any pointers?
