Lack of sleep not being alert at work

      I was wondering if anyone could help me reframe my thoughts.

      I currently work at a train station in a dispatching role. The nights before I know that I need to be alert and pay attention the next day, I struggle to fall asleep and will be lucky if I get an hour because I’m putting too much pressure and find my chest tight with anxiety

      My manager has been really supportive and said I can step back whenever I need too but I find myself get frustrated because I don’t want to be the person that goes in and says that they can’t dispatch all the while and I’m not sure if this continues the fear. Everyone has said I’m really good at my job and that they want to help but I’m actually considering leaving because I’m not sure if this is the role for me if I cannot calm my anxiety around sleeping.

      I work shifts so it’s really hard to accumulate the sleep window technique. If I am working in the evenings, I find myself laying in bed in the day, trying to chase sleep and getting more and more frustrated.

      Any advice on how I can reframe my thoughts?
