I have suffered from insomnia since my son was born 27 years ago. For most of his infancy, he woke up every two hours, and ever since then, sleep has been a struggle for me. My main challenge has always been that I wake up after sleeping a few hours and then I have trouble getting back to sleep. When I do fall asleep again, I usually wake up several more times that night. Most nights I wake up at least 4 or 5 times, and end up lying awake for a good part of the night.
And lately I’ve also had trouble falling asleep too. For instance, few nights ago, I didn’t fall asleep until 5am and then woke up at 7:30 and felt horrible the whole day.

        Hi @kprince!

Welcome to the forum! It’s not uncommon for a life changing event, such as having a child, to disrupt our sleep but our sleep usually returns to normal once the stressor has gone. Sometimes, when we begin to change our thoughts and behaviors does it perpetuate the sleep issue. Have you made any changes to your nighttime, or even daytime, routines to make you sleep at night? What time do you go to bed and what time do you wake in the morning to start your day? When you’re lying in bed unable to fall asleep, what are you thinking about?
