      I have found that the knowledge and strategies I learnt in Martin’s course continue to be helpful. Its not like my sleep is fail proof although it is less prone to disturbance. What has changed most is my mindset regarding sleep. It is less fear driven and more accepting and accommodating of changes. My confidence is stronger because of the sleep window. I get up at 5am everyday. I go the gym most mornings. I focus upon my values as much as possible rather than allowing my fear and anxieties to determine the focus for my activities each day. I go to bed between 10-11pm. I try my best to stay in this pattern as it has made the most difference. I am relaxed about the sleep hygiene measures but still live them in a basic sense. Thats it in a nutshell. Pretty simple really.
      For me, the art of this program has been the interplay between practical strategies and directing mental and emotional energy to what is within ones control, and to what adds meaning and purpose to daily life. It’s evidenced based and its values driven – connecting to what’s important and using structured routines to allow sleep to look after itself. To be able to smile, unhook from an anxious mind, and remain anchored mentally even after a rough night is not always easy but when you do the day moves along and its often easier and more pleasant than one thinks or anticipates.
