There are times when members may come here looking for support, only for nobody to be online. This happens because we're only a small community. There's a lot of value in our forums, and some great friendships have been formed here – however, sometimes we need someone to chat with NOW, not tomorrow. That's where Insomnia Land currently falls short because we're such a young community.
Therefore, until we grow larger I thought it would be a good idea to start a Twitter directory for insomniacs. I can't do this alone, though. Here's how it works.
1. If you are happy to offer support or a friendly ear to other insomniacs via Twitter, post your Twitter username here.
2. When you are looking for someone to chat to, come to this thread and look through the list and see if anyone is online – you can then drop them a message via Twiiter and start chatting.
I know that many of you list your Twitter usernames in your profiles, but not everyone feels comfortable dropping people they don't know too well an unexpected message. By posting your username here, you're telling other members that you're available and happy to chat.
This was actually inspired by Matt – so let's see how it works out. Fingers crossed you'll all see the benefits of this idea and post your Twitter usernames below!

January 11, 2011 at 2:22 am #11902Hulloooooo I am Caers, or also http://twitter.com/Sithiche . I live in England, and I'm often awake a lot at night here, but also during the day, until I generally beat my head against the wall and finally pass out. Or, you know, instigating a discussion with my kids about Pokemon works just as well. I'm allowed to say that. They say the same thing about the way I bang on about music and the Final Fantasy series. My twitter feed is, by default, locked. But go ahead and message me anyway if you feel like a hefty dose of half mad ramblings and good old English sarcasm and discussion about the weather and tea (although you know? I prefer coffee. I blame living in Seattle for so long for that).
January 11, 2011 at 3:17 am #11903@mike__hooker That's a double underscore. Somebody else with my name had it without the underscore at all, and somebody else had it with only one underscore, so I had to do two.
January 11, 2011 at 5:53 pm #11904LouiseTodd is my twitter name, am also on Facebook. Please state that you are from here if you would like to follow me. Many thanks.

April 24, 2011 at 6:50 am #11912Ah! I take it you've not used Twitter.com before?
Maybe we need to start a private email directory for those of us who don't use twitter.

May 6, 2011 at 5:31 am #11914This sounds like a great idea! I have a Twitter, but I never really use it much (other than for links).
I'm definitely up for connecting with Insomnialand members through it. If I'm online, I'm always willing to chat.
@UlyHarp is my Twitter page; if you connect with me on there, drop me a line and let me know you're from Insomnialand, please!
