I’ve been doing cbti since December, and although I’ve had some progress, I’m still having several bad nights per week. Even my good nights, the most sleep I can get is 6.5hrs, and I don’t feel refreshed the next day. I’ve convinced myself that it’s because I’m on Prozac and that is preventing my ability to sleep. The Prozac is to treat the underlying anxiety disorder, which it does help quite a bit. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone here has had success while still on an antidepressant?

I don’t believe that insomnia is a listed side-effect of fluoxetine (Prozac) — but that would be a conversation to have with your doctor.

Are you implementing CBT-I with a therapist, or doing a self-directed course? What is your current sleep window? Can you describe a typical night and can you share the specific CBT-I techniques you are implementing?

@martin I’m working with a local cbti psychiatrist. She is helpful but I wish o had more day to day support. My current sleep window is 11-5:30am. On a good night, I sleep the entire window, usually waking once but going back to sleep. The bad nights include waking after 2-3hrs of sleep, and usually staying awake the remainder of the night. I get out of bed every time being in bed doesn’t feel good. I do something boring then go back to bed when I’m sleepy, but as soon as I get back in bed I feel wide awake again. The cycle repeats all night. I still get up at 5:30am regardless of whether or not I slept. I practice writing out my negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. I feel like I’m doing everything I can and I don’t understand why I haven’t seen more progress by now. (I started cbti about 7wks ago)
