Does anyone like to dance? I enjoy a good dance, I used to Waltz, Jive, and do the Charleston.
Not anymore due to my leg, but still when I did dance I will not lie, the ladies running to me for a good dance since a lot of guys think dancing is gay.
Would be nice ot talk about dancing, dancing shows, etc.
February 1, 2010 at 5:09 pm #9526You know what, I wish I could dance! After a few drinks I like to do some odd movements, but I wouldn't call it dancing – nothing like the stuff you see on Dancing With the Stars or similar.
How did you learn to dance? My wife is into Latin Dance – toyed with the idea of going to lessons together. Maybe we'll get around to it one of these days!

Haha, you after a few drinks haha I can picture the movements now!
You should totally give it a shot, when two people dace, the connection you have, the feeling of being one is just amazing, more so when in love.
Our music class in elementary up until grade six had dance in it, I learned how to line dance, square dancing, waltz.
Then in high school I took dance and learned the jive and the Charleston, I was also in the process of learning the salsa but we didn't have enough time.
February 1, 2010 at 5:26 pm #9528That's awesome that you learnt how to dance at school! You just reminded me of a funny story.
When my wife and I got married, her aunt done some flamenco dancing – then at random, pulled me up to do some flamenco with her. Let me just say, I can't do any kind of dance – let alone the flamenco. But, it was my wedding – a darn good party so I gave it go; rose in the mouth and everything.
I thought I looked good, but probably not. There were a lot of smiles in the room, though – and really, that's all that counts.

Haha, yeah smiles are good, that sounds awesome! I would of gotten up too.
I went to a wedding and lets just say the women would not stop asking me to dance, I'd dance grab a drink and turn around and see a woman in her late 30's early 40's “Hey! Would you do me the honor of this dance?” and I'd say “I assure you it is an honor to dance with such a woman.” I'm rather nice I guess, kissing the hands of woman to lift their spirits, dancing.
The funniest was when I went up to a girl my age and asked “May I have your hand?” and she said to me “I've been waiting all afternoon for you to ask me, you're amazing.” We danced for about an hour or so and at the end she asked me why did you wait to dance with me? and I said “You save the best for last.”
I have another wedding to go to this summer, my best friends mom is getting remarried. It shall be a grand time.

O_o The rose is what got me. lol
The last time I danced, my friend and I started a train after a shot girl had assailed us in a bathroom. Let me just say now, the blue shot is awesome. Anyway, after the train we got on the floor, and they tell me I dance a little better than Elaine from Seinfeld. I was definitely not blessed with the good moves gene at birth.
February 1, 2010 at 5:57 pm #9532I second that! Our Franky is quite the charmer, eh?!

February 1, 2010 at 6:16 pm #9533I wanted to leave this part out cause I get embarrassed by it but I danced with that girl who was around my age and there was still people wanting to dance, the women lined up asking me to dance with them all again one after the other. I was dead tired but did it again and at the end of it for the next few months I had people asking me to teach them to dance so they could score with women like I did, and I said it isn't about scoring or getting laid, it's about dancing, to have fun and feel connected with someone.
I won't teach men how to dance unless I know they are good.
What was really embarrassing was the young one I danced with asked me out on a date, we went out on a few dates until she went back to NB. I even had a 32 year old women ask me out haha!
I'm am a charmer, I was brought up to be chivalrous and a gentleman to women.

Good for you! There's not enough like that in the world.

Sadly there isn't.
February 7, 2010 at 7:45 am #9536I love to dance.Music starts and my arms and legs move on their own accord its frightening. I'm usually a closet dancer but do go clubbing and rock at Latin dancing. I must say I haven't tried waltz. Its rare to find guys who can dance well and who like it so you must be really popular when you hit the dance floor.

Well I used to be, can't dance anymore with my leg but yeah, ladies sure did like it.
March 5, 2010 at 8:55 pm #9538When my boyfriend and I were both living in London, we used to go to Lindy hop classes which were great. Because there were always two to three women to each man, we were encouraged to swap partners every few minutes which made it quite social.
It was also quite handy for the two of us as my boyfriend is over a foot taller then me which makes dancing together difficult. We have a few weddings coming up this year and I'm contemplating buying 5 inch high heels so we'd at least be able to slow dance at the reception. I can feel the bunions already!
March 6, 2010 at 7:32 am #9539You guys are so fun. I wish I could Waltz, and I used to do a little Salsa before my Puerto Rican friend went off to serve the USA. I mostly do Hip-Hop and modern dance. I used to teach little kids when I was still in HS/SS. Now, I just dance at clubs and if there's a dance-off, I'm sure to be in it. I also did a majority or choreo for my sorority before I transfered. 🙄
