Falling asleep is by far my greatest challenge, though occasionally I wake up a lot too. I’m going through a dreadful string of all nighters right now. I have been awake all night long for 6 nights over the past 10 nights. I couldn’t sleep until after 5 am and 6:30 am after those nights. Even the nights I wasn’t awake all night, during the last 10 days, I still didn’t fall sleep until close to 4 am. 😱 I’m writing this at nearly 5:30 am after being awake all night again. Not even a sedative worked tonight!

That sounds really difficult, Bekah — and you are not alone! It sounds as though you’ve learned from experience that the more you try to make sleep happen, the more you try to get rid of wakefulness, the more difficult it becomes (or, at least, that you cannot directly control sleep). I wonder if there might be a useful insight there?
