Ive been finding that since my soc put me one Valium I've started loosing track of time, and my memory is shot, I'll wake in the morning feeling like I have a terrible chemical hangover, and then spend half the day trying to piece together what I did the previous day, for instance I found a post on this site I don't remember posting that was just gibberish with terrible spelling and was basically just me ranting about my gorgeous daughter! Has this happened to anyone else and is it normal? I'm only on 30-40 mg a day, oh and I also find shopping bags full of unwanted

Clothes, and am always loosing important things like bills and whatnot… Is this common? I wouldn't take it at all except that when I tried not taking it my withdrawals from my pain management detox were unbearable and I do like how it makes me more sociable and far less paranoid in public!

I was on diazapam for years, scrambled my brains good and proper. But I was taking it with alcohol and.. other things.

But yes, Diazapam is very, very potent, many GP's here won't prescribe it any more for that reason. Took months for me to detox off it as it's highly addictive, too.

But yes, the symptoms you've described are very common for diazapam, remember it's not a sleeping pill – it is a sedative, that just happens to have a side effect of drowsiness that helps you sleep.

Loss of memory, bad judgement of time, no sense of time passed and this:

Well just ask Martin about my posts on his other site for the past 6 years I was on stuff like that 😆

There are much better alternatives than Diazapam out there, less potent and dangerous, I'd go back to your GP and let them know it's just not working for you and ask for an alternative.

Do you wake up feeling groggy, and also have that weird eyesight thing, where it looks like you're looking at everything through the back of a spoon? It gave me that side effect often after waking, especially if I've taken three or four of them at night.

Thanks for replying, do u know if the alternatives will give me the same confidence that Valium does? God it is terribly addictive, and I'm finding I'm needing more and more almost every day to get the same effect! I don't abuse it, nor do I want to as I've mentioned I have a daughter and my no 1 priority is her well being, I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to her because I was zonked out on Valium!

I was on Valium for about two months (Tommy is correct, they rarely prescribe it here in England but after having two complete nervous breakdowns in four years, they felt it was serious enough) before I went in and demanded that I be titrated down off of it. That took almost two months as well, and I couldn't go on another until I was clear of it. That was horrible. I suggest you get off of that as soon as you possibly can, if possible.

I went on several others, and a few combinations of them, before we actually settled on citalopram, which worked absolute wonders for me. It seems to give me the benefits I had with valium without the horrible addiction and disconnection. You'd do well to consult with your doctor, and insist that they start providing you with advice and information on possible alternative medications, so they can find one that works more effectively, and safely, for you.

Yes, I have tried valium before, its very similar to xanax in its effects, but I'm pretty sure valium and xanax are benzodiazepams, anyhow, I find taking xanax is the only time I ever feel completely rested after waking up, but it does come with the price of not being able to recall several events that happened while u took the pill, I've found myself doing the craziest things on it and not able to recall doing any of it, I don't so much take xanax anymore, every now and then yes but no so much, I have gone on facebook and posted crazy things, went walking with my dog once and she ended up getting sprayed by a skunk. Then when I've taken these pills I end up taking more when I didn't intend to, I don't know, haha I've pretty much stayed away from drugs in an effort to try sleeping but I have found weed to be the best thing to get me to sleep, but I haven't smoked in months

Sorry cears, did you find your new medication gave you the same social confidence as Valium? It's just so horribly addictive, if i go two days without it I feel like every motion, movement and noise I make is just awkward and off. I hate that it has me under its thumb. And the worst part is, the longer you take it, the more you need. Hate that damn drug, but I'm so socially awkward and shy without it.
