      I have completed Martin’s six week program and have found it very helpful. I started out with off-the-charts sleep anxiety, had many nights of very little or no sleep, and thought/worried about sleep constantly. I now have much reduced sleep anxiety and am subsequently sleeping better. I found the Awake and Now exercises to be very helpful as well as the education/information about sleep and the peer support in the forums. Some of the CBTi programs focus so much on just the behavioral part while Martin has a good grasp of the fact that thoughts and beliefs and believing “I’m the only one with a sleep problem” are a big part of the problem. I’m a retired mental health professional, and I recommend Martin’s program highly. Recovery is an ongoing process. I still have nights of less-than-ideal sleep and still find myself pulled into thinking and worrying more about sleep than I would like after one of those nights. I now have tools, though, for dealing with those nights and those worries, and that helps me get back on track. Thank you, Martin!

        I am so excited! This is all so good to hear. I am loving the 2 week emails and went back and forth with purchasing the course. I ended up going for it! Thank you for posting, it makes me so excited to restore my hope and my sleep! Yay for us!

          Ah yes, nights of less than ideal sleep are still going to show up from time to time — just like less than ideal days!

          You clearly have a strong awareness of when you are getting pulled into a struggle and that is a huge reflection of your progress since that awareness means you have the opportunity to respond in a different way 🙂

          As you mentioned, you now have a selection of tools available to you — and tools only work when they are used, and we get better at using tools the more practice we get with them!

            What a wonderful post to read my first time in the forum!!! I have struggled with sleep most of my adult life and more recently it has become excruciating. Last night I laid in bed seven hours with no sleep. I am so hopeful for a solution. Thank you so much for your post and inspiration.
