      Hi – this is my first posting. I started having insomnia a couple of years ago with the onset of menopause. Getting HRT helped with the insomnia, but I probably developed some bad habits while trying to get through this period. The coaching from this website has helped me to see what some of these are and I’m working on overcoming them. I stopped taking ambien about a week ago and find that I’m able to fall asleep without it, which was a little surprising. Going to bed later helped a lot.

      But the biggest sleep challenge I had, which I didn’t know I had, was severe sleep apnea! So even if I could fall asleep I wasn’t able to get quality sleep. I had an in-hospital sleep study last winter, and have been using a cpap for a few months now. It helped noticably.

      I want to encourage anyone who is concerned about sleep to get a sleep study.
