This is a poem I wrote a couple of weeks back when I was going through a bad day it's called Black Ribbon:

      Desolation, time stands still

pit of depression built up in my head

wanting to be free from this aching feeling

wanting to see the light at the end of the tunnel

eyes are bound with a black ribbon of delusion held in place with nails of dispair

blind, reaching out trying to find my way

walls of insnaity cold and wet to my touch

a sense of fear lingers in the air

      suffocating to breathe in

a taste of copper on my tongue

blood dripping down my face from the nails

heart filled with panic as he whispers my name

the word escaping from its sepentine mouth like a vile stench of my fate

posionous barbs of humiliation screaming at me

wanting to take a knife and cut it from me like a cancerous tumor being removed

crouching down covering my ears trying to block out the taunts of hate

tears of disgrace drop to the ground at not being able to block it out

trying to be strong but its hard when this enemy is like a holocaust of depression

a nuclear blast always going off inside my life

      mass destruction of my reality

      laying waste to my mind

begging for it to end, begging for the silence i so desire

Wow, there's a lot of vivid imagery going on in this piece. It's interesting how much action is being told, what with all the strong words, on a subject like desolation. Generally I think of desolation as something still and stagnant; I rarely see it described this way. That's not to say that it's bad, though- I really like that it's full of action- it's very gripping.

On unrelated note, I was pointed in your direction by Martin; he said you'd posted some poetry on here and I thought I'd take a look. It's all great work!

        Until next time.

I hope the noose around you has lifted somewhat since you've written

of this very affliction that brought me here.As a poet I was surprised and

happy to see this section on the insomnia board.

This is verygood and delves into the haunted psyche
