Boyfriend Can’t Sleep!! Please Help

      My boyfriend dan stay up for 24hrs – a week! He tries to sleep but really just lays there. He’s been prescribed 2 different medication tried for a week and worked the first night he slept 2 hours then he felt sick every other time.

      We tried magnesium, melatonin, sex doesn’t work it actually wakes him up. He feels like he’s stuck on this same day cause he can’t sleep. Out of 2 weeks he might get a night and a half’s worth of sleep.

      He does feel tired so that makes him want to try and sleep and then he wastes a whole day because he felt tired/exhausted and tries to sleep for hours and he doesn’t and the cycle continues.

      Maybe he Is going to the wrong kind of sleep doctors but nothing has been working and I need new insight so here I am!

          Hello. The key to defeating insomnia ironically is in not trying to defeat it. Be accepting of wakeful hours as much as enjoying a restful sleep. It means you lose your discriminative nature and truly embrace an “any scenario is fine”. Aspiring to reach such a state isn’t easy to be honest, it may mean doing things that seem unnatural to you at first, but with faith and optimism, it works! In sleep and indeed in life, freeing yourself from harmful self-defined notions such as “sleep is very important to me” or “i must get x hours every single night” etc, usually and ultimately leads to a cessation of suffering.
