About 2 months ago, I felt like I finally had good sleep. I was sleeping 7.5 hours unbroken, and only waking up 1-2 times every night. This trend continued for about a week until I started waking up and being unable to fall asleep again. I don’t believe I did anything significant to impact my sleep, I simply was pushing back my sleep time by 15 minutes a week(and only going to sleep when I felt sleepy) like what Martin said in the course, yet the second half of my sleep became broken. Also, I don’t have a good, effective way to track my sleep throughout the night. I have no idea when I am asleep or awake during the second half of the night; I don’t know how long I am awake. Does anyone have a solution?

I would suggest moving away from tracking sleep if it’s causing you any concern whatsoever — after all, people who don’t have any issues or concerns with sleep don’t track their sleep, right?

When you wake during the night (which is a normal part of sleep) what do you do next? Why does it feel so important to fall back to sleep when you wake? What are those awakenings stopping you from doing each day?
