      hello,
is there anyone who suddenly experienced lost of sleep and with that fevers and lost of appetite. It started for me on Saturday night where we had Xmas party with my closest friends, went to bed at 12.00 and didn’t fall asleep at least until 4am. Already up at 8am. Hoped that I will be able to have a nap during the day but no chance. Then I stared loosing my appetite and now I had hardly eaten for two days. Last night I fall sleep around 2am. Tonight is 3am and still wide awake with fast heart beat. I am fricking out as I have never had this type of problems and was sleeping like a baby. Please help! I want to be back to normal.

Hey. Yes I am in completely the same boat. For a few weeks now I simply cannot drift off no matter how tired I am. I have done all the right things to help, but still sleep is not coming naturally. I am now on zopiclone but don’t want to be reliant on them . I think loss of energy and appetite all go together. Like you I seem to have what feel like Heart flutters but I think it may be anxiety of loss of and little sleep. I am a normally a very healthy full of energy person. And it is doing my head in!

Hello Lucia and welcome to the forum. Let me first reassure you that it’s completely normal for sleep to be disrupted after a late night — particularly when these late nights involve partying, perhaps the consumption of alcohol, and socializing with friends.

Not only do these occasions throw off our sleep/wake cycle, but they are also quite stimulating — so even though we feel tired by the end of the party, we may not be calm enough for sleep.

Although possible, it’s unlikely that your loss of appetite is a result of the sleep disruption you faced after your party. If you are still concerned about this, I would suggest speaking with your doctor.

At this point, you would likely benefit from observing a regular sleep schedule and getting out of bed when unable to sleep. These techniques will help you avoid compensatory behaviors that risk making your sleep problems more entrenched over time.
